This made pulling my trailer enjoyable again, well as enjoyable as it can be. It stopped the constant thud and clanking my hitch made which really makes towing less stressful to me. The stabilizer was easy to install and has good components. Its been on for a while and does have a little rust forming, but everything rusts nowadays. I am really satisfied with it and will gladly get another when the time comes.

I haven’t really loaded this thing down yet, but it’s well constructed, fits my 1-1/4” hitch, and really snugs up the hitch mount to the receiver! Applying sufficient torque to alleviate rattle does put a lot of pressure on the rubber coating, so I think with a lot of on/off cycles it would start to fail and eventually cause some scratching of additional protection measures aren’t taken. But I don’t expect that for some time. The instructions were clear enough for a newbie like me (I don’t even have a trailer yet) to figure out proper installation. Basically if you don’t know, the flat part goes under the lip on the receiver, and the curved part goes under the mount, curving towards it. Might need to use an open end wrench or a deep socket if attaching to 1-1/4” receiver due to the extra bolt length.

The anti rattle hitch is a standard hitch. It keeps my hitch accessories clamped on tight with little to no noise as I'm driving. What I like about it is the orange plastic wrapping which adds another layer of protection against the elements and the enameled black plate which does the same. I don't trust the actual bolts to offer the same amount of protection but only time will tell. If anything changes, I'll revisit this review.

I often rent trailers for local moving tasks. If you shake your trailer hitch before hooking up your trailer, you'll notice there is a lot of play in the pin the secures the hitch. This device eliminates the play by clamping the hitch to the receiver. This is particularly noticeable if the trailer is unloaded; there will be a lot of annoying bumping around. As an added benefit, it makes it more difficult to remove the hitch, deterring theft (you would need a wrench to get it off). The size of the ball also plays a part, the largest size ball that will fit the trailer will further reduce rattle. The most popular trailer rental company says a 2" ball is standard, but 2&5/16" will fit and is recommended for heavier loads. I use the 2" ball with no problem, but if you want to minimize rattle further, try the 2&5/16" ball.

Works as described and has a nice powder coat finish on the main part of the product. The steel parts are zinc chromate plated to protect against corrosion. It comes with a little instruction sheet (which is laminated so you can keep it in the glove box in case someone needs to see how to reinstall it). It also comes with a thin, small 19mm open end wrench for tightening up the nuts. That is my only negative comment about this product. I used the supplied wrench to tighten the nuts but was still able to grab the hitch and move it some. I then used a full-size 3/4" (3/4" = 19.05mm) wrench to really tighten the nuts and I could not budge the hitch after properly tightening the nuts.So, ditch the little wrench and tighten it with a real wrench and you'll be good to go.

I've got a Grand Cherokee with a hitch that rattles like crazy when towing a trailer. I've tried plastic tightening pieces with no luck, but this chunky boy right here does the trick. It's made very sturdy and heavy-duty. The top piece that hugs you hitch is rubberized to give a snug and scratch-free hold. Interlock the pieces around your hitch, and then use the wrench to tighten the bolts. It significantly reduces the rattle. The only pain is, if you don't always leave your hitch attached to your vehicle, you'll have to loosen and remove the hardware every time you're done towing. Overall, it is a very handy option for anyone towing with a noisy, bouncy trailer hitch.
