Have not installed yet but haves ALL the part's for a complete starter rebuild. I got this starter kit for my 1983 Honda V65 magna. The price is great !

Good quality. You will have to do a bit of grinding to make it fit an 83 v65 . Reduce the outer diameter, thin a couple alignment tabs, but definately worth the $

Used it to rebuild my starter i can no longer get a OEM starter bikes to old had to reduce the stater plate diameter by 1/16 of an inch but no bigge worked well it's all good back on the road

I bought this for a 1984 V65 honda magna original starter rebuild. The brush ring OD is ~1/16" to wide too fit in the starter casing. I ended up having to file down the exterior to get the ring to fit in the housing cap. Also, the O-ring provided for the mating of the starter motor to the crankcase is not the correct diameter. all other O-rings seemed fine. After that, everything seemed to fit fine. The Commutator went in fine and the brushes make good contact. So far so good on the starter, it seems to be cranking like new again.A general word to the wise, this kit comes with the springs loaded into the brush alcoves-- release those springs and install the brushes and commutator, then reload the springs onto the brushes to make your install 10x easier.

Very happy with price and delivery. Not exact match for my very EXPIERIENCED rebuilder in Auburn CA. Used o rings, but bearings had to be subbed for in house bushings and brush assembly would have required major reconfiguration. Reused original brushes. Recommend "yes" only because starter's O rings seal engine oil...Very important. Please share this.
