I wish it was available in colors, but I couldn't leave the old cover on with the tear so I ponies up and took the chance.Glad I did. My 27 year old bike looks just like it did the day I got it.Wish it was in yellow, but I'll survive. :)

This boot was not as long as the original and made of a harder material too. It is therefore harder to install then if you had an original. Once you get it fitted it looks and works fine.

Fit like the old one did. Rubber seems to be of good quality, supple, about like the one it replaced. Seals well around the top and bottom against the head shock. It's main purpose is to keep out dust/dirt and moisture and it seems well suited for this. Time will tell but it seems to be a good OE replacement part that will function like the OE boot did.

Small for super fatty d. Inserting it is a nightmare... you have to reverse, but still need some muscles and finger strength. I guess the 5 ridge is just small compared to the original 7 ridge. I almost gave up but eventually able to really muscle it up.

When i first opened the package, it was concerned that this boot is too small in diameter, but it worked perfectly. Now the old crappy dirty suspension is fixed, and this boot should keep it clean. My bike had a 8-rib boot originally, but the 5-rib boot was a perfect replacement.

What's not to love about a brand new boot that seals out all the crud the trail throws at your bike. I very much appreciate the 4mm allen bolt over zip ties - this will make boot take down for maintenance safe. The idea of cutting into a perfectly good boot just to remove the zip ties isn't worth the consequence when dealing with a HeadShok.
