Our family has become big fans of these silicone night lights. We started buying them when they first came out and the only designs were owls and bunnies, but since then you can find them in the shape of every cute and popular animal you can think of, from capybaras to unicorns to dogs and of course one of the hottest animals, the axolotl.Axolotls are salamanders that are native to Mexico that were (and still are) almost extinct in the wild but thanks to their inclusion in video games from Minecraft to Animal Crossing, they've become popular and abundant in captivity. If you've never seen one in person, you need to find one at a local aquarium or zoo. They're one of the cutest amphibians around, with a mouth that looks like it always smiling and tiny little arms and legs.This light evokes the cuteness of the axolotl nicely. It's built very well, as most of these toys are these days. It's simply to use; there's an on switch, an off switch, and a switch you can use to turn the light off in 20 minutes. You can tap it on the back to cycle from dim to bright to off. The brightness is suitable for a nightlight, and the pink hue is actually better for sleeping than white or blue light which can suppress melatonin. Pink is close to red, which is the best for sleep.I also like that it's not as big and cumbersome as some of these kinds of night lights; it's only 7 inches long so it can stay on a nightstand or even temporarily next to your child (I wouldn't keep it there all night, as the mechanism inside the silicone outer shell is still hard).Overall very happy with this. There are a bunch of axolotl designs out there, but this one is definitely the cutest.

I'm not gonna lie, as soon as I saw the seller's video for this guy, I stopped reading the listing and immediately ordered it (well, after watching the video a handful of times, that is). I'm in love with this fella, and I want even more now.Little Capy is made of a squishy silicone material. It has modes for either plain light, or solid rainbow colors; the button on the bottom can be switched between these two settings or off. To change its color/intensity, you can either tap its base on a surface, tap its head, or squeeze its body. In plain light mode, the first tap is the brightest light, the second tap dims it some, and the third tap dims it more. In rainbow mode, the light only has one intensity, and each tap/squeeze changes the color.Its little almond or whatever it is on its head can hold the drum, and it can also be rotated a full 360 degrees, which is really cool. You can move the drum to the hands, the almond, or use it to tap little Capy. The drum fits easily into the almond, but it's a little of a struggle to place it into its hands because they're clasped a little tight. But that also means it holds its drum well, so it won't fall out once in. I haven't seen any other night lights with accessories or features like this one, and that's what drew me to it in the first place.The only thing I would change is the plain light mode starting out on bright setting. I have a few of this style night lights, and I love having them set to on around the house so I can walk into a room and tap them on in the middle of the night. Because of that, I prefer lights that start in dim mode so it doesn't shock my eyes too much in the dark. But it's a very minor complaint, and I wouldn't give this little Capy up for anything.It's such a good night light, and the colors are really vibrant and fun. This is definitely a party Capybara! It's making me want even more Capybara night lights so they can play together like the Capys in the video!

I absolutely adore this little Axolotl nightlight! It's the perfect size for my daughter's bedside table, and it casts the most soothing glow. Perfect gift for my niece, she is sooo into these little guys. She couldn’t believe I found it. Gives off a soft light that she uses every night to fall asleep. She is 10 years old and set it up by herself so very easy to use. It is so cute! It has two different modes: one bright light and one that you can change the brightness by tapping him. It can work while plugged in or it can be charged and used without being plugged in. I just wish the charging cable was longer. It also did not come with the brick part to plug into the wall. But overall, it is adorable and I love it!
