HOW TO USE

  • This is the remote control for the ceiling fan. They should match the switches on the transmitter inside the ceiling fan.
  • As long as the fan has the receiver in it this remote will work with your Hampton Bay ceiling fans.
  • Just remember to set the 4 dip switches inside the battery compartment(they are kinda hidden behind the slot for the battery itself).
  • Look inside the old remote with the battery cover off, there is a series of "DIP" switches(4) with a pen.
  • Slide the switches in the new remote to match the same pattern as the old remote.
  • Replace the battery in the new remote and things should work.
  • There are 16 different frequencies for the Hampton Bay fans, so you would have to play with the combinations.
  • Here are the frequency list:(0 is down and 1 is up) 0000, 0001, 0010, 0100, 0110, 0101, 0011, 0111, 1111, 1110, 1101, 1011, 1001, 1010, 1100, 1000

Set different PIN code if control multiple ceiling fans

NOTE: If you control multiple ceiling fans in the house, please check the PIN code settings are different between these, or it may let transmitter next door or your neibourhood's remote activates this ceiling fan in your other rooms. This may cause the fan turning on strangely while you are not at home.

Great value and works like a charm. It took my husband about 10 mins from unboxing to setting the remotes and now we can get our ceiling fans to FINALLY be responsive! These may not be OEM Hampton Bay remotes but they look and feel identical. Soooooo happy!

Update 6/2024: About a month later, still working great. Enough better than the original (when original one was new) I wish I'd bought it years ago.Original review:This was a straight replacement of my original remote. The old Allen + Roth remote used a rather weird 12 volt battery that is mildly hard to find. It also tended to use that 12V battery up fairly quickly. I think it drained it even when not in use. It also seem to be very picky about where it was located near the fan, the new one works from across the room with no problems. It was pretty easy to get this new one to work. All I had to do was move the internal dip switches to the same pattern as the old remote. As soon as I did that it did the lights, fan speed, etc.I may eventually try to use a rechargeable 9 volt for the new remote. It matters how fast it uses up the 9 volt battery.Bottom line: I think that I'm going to be happy with this new remote, if nothing else not having to get the weird tiny 12 volt battery every time I need to replace it will be easier. 9 volt = I have a bunch around

I have no complaints, since the unit shipped controlled the old fan and lights as expected, but the actual unit shipped looks different than the picture but does the same thing as the original.

This Hampton Bay replacement works perfect, so far, for way less $$$. I think its the same remote without the Hampton Bay stamp on it ; )
