This tool arrived today and I took it to my shop to check it out. There is a single spring loaded ball bearing that centers the drive pin. The ball popped out and only my trusty nail magnet allowed me to retrieve it from my cluttered shop floor. When I tried to fasten the handle designed to turn the drive screw I discovered a bored hole that had not been tapped. No worries for me, I can operate the tool with a 17 mm wrench. The tool itself is robust and well designed, I can't imagine how I could wear it out in my life time. I'm not sending the tool back. it's nice that you can purchase another drive pin. That's the only part of this tool that will fail if it is not used properly. Would have been 5 stars except for the quality control fail. When you grind off the rivet head here is a good tip. It will be hard to see the link pin. With a good light take a slender drift and with a few sharp blows drive the link pin just a few mils into the link plate. Than you can clearly see the end of the ground off link recessed slightly below the surface of the link plate. Now you can carefully position the drive pin of the tool against the link pin. Take a 17mm wrench and easily push out the link pin. If you are off the center and try to push on the link plate, you will damage the tool.

No issues whatsoever with it. Bought because I ordered wrong size chain for my bike and had to remove links. Stout tool and worked as it should have. Would recommend

You must understand that you have to cut the 'mushroom' off the rivet first before using this tool. Use a dremel or in my case, a mini hacksaw. When the rivet is then flush with the plate on the chain, use this tool and it comes out so easily I could do it with a finger.I recommend greasing the threads on this tool before use and for storage to make it work a bit 'nicer'.

The chain breaker did exactly what I needed it to do when I was shortening a moped chain. It was very easy to use (intuitive/videos available online, as instructions were in Chinese) and delivery was prompt.
