I wasn't sure about this before I bought it. Being able to move the mounts helped. I bought a second one.

This is a fairly intuitive tool so one would wonder why instructions are needed. What they don't advertise about this product, and should, is the nice to discover feature that the magnetic bit clip and mounting brackets can be removed and rearranged to whichever of the three sides are desired. That's also where the instructions would come in handy as, in trying to separate the fixed mounting bracket from it, I broke the part that holds the fixed mounting bracket to the mounting clip that provides the ability to dynamically hang from shelves, buckets, or other items the clip fits around. Had instructions been included I likely would have been informed that removing the fixed mounting bracket from the hanger clip was pointless as the hanger won't mount to the holster without the fixed bracket. Perhaps instructions were initially included and this is a return that was sent to me... there were also two loose screws tumbling about in the box it came in that might have been secured with the instructions at some point? My desire for investigating the options with the mounting bracket removed from the hanger clip brings up another point where the product can be improved, providing mounting brackets that can be spaced for the desired angle rather that just assuming one angle fits all. Perhaps angled mounting bracket spacers that can clip in a stack to reach a wider range of options. Perhaps a means to screw the clip mount to a custom cut wedge and then screw the fixed mount to the other side of that wedge.Another place this product can improve is providing inner diameter spacers, or some means of securing loose sitting tools in the holster. My DeWalt impact driver with rubber bit attachment along the left drive edge fit with enough room to easily slip out of the holster were the shelves I attached it to jostled significantly. Perhaps custom attach a button strap to it to hold any tools inside in place while the anything it's attached to is jostled about between jobs, or hook and loop some bungie to hold tools in place. The clips do make the tool easier to work with in making custom mods. The magnet clip isn't as strong as "heavy duty" suggests to me. I was expecting rare earth strength magnetism but received something in the order of magnitude a common refrigerator magnet provides. With the cons and quality control experienced I'd give it a two star review but with the things they get right which I haven't found in any other product (the ability to hang a holster for my tools on anything I can screw the mounting brackets to or hang the clamp on, and mod friendliness) I feel compelled to still give this product a solid three stars. This definitely has the potential to be a five start product with a little more out of the box friendliness.

This drill dock is very handy and extremely versatile. It fits all my different drills. From a big Festool, to a Makita impact driver, to a Festool CXS. The CXS has a wrap around handle and I had to remove the drill docks trigger guard to properly fit the drill, which is easy to remove and reinstall.I like that they designed the drill dock to be able to switch around the 3 attachments to the three sides, the last side is for the trigger guard which has to stay in the same position. At the time of this review I noticed that they only wrote about 2 attachments, the magnet and the “clip on” to a shelf attachment. The third attachment slides on to the drill dock like the other two, but this attachment allows for a semi-permanent mounting of the drill dock onto a surface with 2 screws. At least there were supposed to be 2 screws, but I only received one and I believe the second screw fell out of the box. They should put the 2 screws inside the screw on box (the third attachment) they are meant for, so they don’t get lost. That’s where I’m putting the one screw and I can always find another screw if I decide to use that attachment. They must have used a pre-production drill dock for their photos, since mine looks a little different. In my attached photos the black portions are rubberized and the red is thick plastic. I wish they would have kept the black lettering for the drill size guide, since the raised matching red lettering is harder to see with my aging eyes. The attachments are easy to move around. You simply need to press the lever on the inside tube of the drill dock and slide the attachment off. When you slide the attachments on you’ll hear a click to indicate it’s locked in position. The trigger guard can slide forward and backward to fit multiple sized drills. The trigger guard can also be removed.Overall it’s a sturdy drill dock that can be adjusted for multiple situations, plus it’s made in the USA.
