The lump I received is so small most of it falls through the bottom of my charcoal chimney. I received another brand of the lump and the pieces are 5x plus the size. Too bad, I like the Cowboy brand briquettes.

Great charcoal but this is way over-priced here. Costco sells 34lb bags for $20.

not a bad product, but it's better for hot and fast grilling, i'd stay away from this if you're doing low and slow BBQ. I bought a bag of this at Lowes and used it on my smoker yesterday. with my usual charcoal the smoker settles in at 275, but this charcoal was settling in at 325 and even got up to 350 for a while! I kept adjusting the vents and added water to my water pan to try and get the temp down but it didn't help much. Brisket and Chicken are good at those higher temperatures, but i want 275 or below for pork, so I may purchase this again when I cook certain meats, but this will definitely not be my normal charcoal. It does have a good flavor though, while it did burn hot it also burned clean (no thick white smoke, it was all nice thin blue smoke).
