We keep this on our e-bike in case of rain or wind. It has good reflective stripes and does the trick. I wouldn’t rely on this as a raincoat

Purchased for my 7 year old grandson’s bicycle themed birthday party. He loved it! All the pockets are great, and he loved that he now has a wind breaker to wear when he rides, just like his father, uncle and Grandpop!

Jacket is thin and light. Good for a windbreaker or light summer jacket. The reflector stripes were helpful while walking to keep kids safe.

This appears to be very well made, as far as seams, stitching, zippers, etc. It is airy and lightweight enough to wear in summer rain shower, but roomy enough to wear over a hoody or even light coat in colder months. And it is very nice looking, especially if your child is transitioning from cartoon character raincoats to young adulthood. This is a jacket that will last, it wouldn't hurt to order a larger size (it does fit as expected and, as I said, have some room), because as your child grows, this jacket will still be around.

I was not convinced this would be waterproof because of how the fabric feels, but it was far more effective than I expected. It is probably best as a wind layer with tolerance for a light sprinkle rather than an extended trip in the rain; perfect for the kids backpack while out hiking or cycling in the summer "just in case" because it is small and light, stuffs into a little bag that can be left in the pack full time. We will use it for the bike ride to school in the fall because it is VERY hi-vis, which photos don’t fairly display.
