CURT class 1 ball mounts are designed for a variety of lightweight towing applications. For basic utility trailers, canoe haulers and other light-duty trailers, a class 1 ball mount gets the job done. CURT class 1 ball mounts are designed to complement our class 1 trailer hitches and come in several different styles, offering a range of shank lengths and drop and rise options. A class 1 ball mount is typically used on compact cars, full-size cars, minivans and crossover SUVs, but it can be used on virtually any trailer hitch with a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver tube (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc). This class 1 ball mount features a gross trailer weight capacity of 2,000 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. It has a length of 6-1/4", a drop of 3-1/4" and a rise of 2-5/8". CURT ball mounts, like our trailer hitches, are built to last. They are made from quality steel that is CNC-formed and robotically welded to be an exact fit for your receiver hitch. To protect our class 1 ball mounts from corrosion, UV damage and scratches, we coat each one in a powder coat of high-gloss black for a sharp finish.

The powder coating is so thick it won't allow the hitch to go in the receiver. If you don't mind grinding the coating off and hitting it with some paint to help with rust then it's adequate.

Hitch Ball Mount fits a little close to the bumper but overall seems to be fine.Would recommend you measure to assure you can clear with enough space to not damage the bumper with any attachments.

so alot of the reviews complained about the coating on this. And to some degree they are right. I used 400 grit to get a tiny amount off and the stucker which if i might say that is the dumbest place to put it.. Anyways I like when u have to pound it in the hole (no pun) because you dont want the trailer to slap left and right because of the give. Once you start to pull and put weight on it, its going to get loose, just like my X of 17 years but this hitch is worth every penny

I purchased this for a Drawtite hitch on a 2004 Pontiac Vibe, because it gave me the correct rise for my boat trailer, and the needed Drawtite mount would stick out the back WAY too far. But, when I went to install it, it wouldn't slide into the hitch. It seems that the powder coatings on both the hitch and the mount were so thick that they prevented the two from fitting each other. A little file work on the hitch opening helped, but not enough. I had to use a bench grinder on the mount to remove much of the coating where they slide together before they would fit. Afterward, I painted where I had done the grinding with black spray paint, and you'd never know I had to do it.It fits now (See photo) and should work fine. One star knocked off because I had to work on it to make it fit. Otherwise, I would have given it five stars.
