This product is incapable of muting a saxophone or any open valve instrument. This product is a sham. The physics of a saxophone is such that the sound is produced at the sound holes when a keypad is lifted. So in essence a saxophone is essentially a whistle with multiple sound holes. You cannot mute a saxophone at the bell with a device like this.

This mute would not fit in the bell of my Antigua straight soprano saxophone so I returned it.
