Norton might be DiMarzio's most versatile bridge pickup. Combine it with a wide choice of neck pickups like the Air Classic, PAF, PAF Pro and Air Norton. Tech Talk: Norton was originally designed to extend the tonal range and power of standard output humbuckers without going over the top. It's more modern than a PAF sound: the benchmark Les Paul/Marshall combination yields more midrange crunch and high frequency pick harmonics than vintage-style pickups were capable of putting out. Really good for opening up the sound of mahogany set-neck guitars.

I used this to replace a JB out of a Charvel. It really added more diversity to the guitar’s sound yet keeping the shredderiffic qualities one should expect from a Charvel. It also paired up well with the Duncan 59 that’s in the neck position. Responds well to treble bleed circuit as well. Get one!

Once again I got the Tone zone not the Norton and I absolutely freaking love it very even pickup super clear between notes at any speed. I have used them in 15 of last 25 guitars actually they all ended up with either a duncun custom or a duncun destortion. If not a the tone zone. But my ear pulls me to the sound of the tone zone. Cause I love it. In my book best bridge pickup ever made can use for any type of music

DiMarzio describes this as "a Fred meets a Tone Zone," and I find that description to be fairly accurate. This pickup has much more focus and sizzle than the Tone Zone, and the lows do not get muddy or boomy like the Tone Zone. However, high notes still retain enough fatness to not be piercing while adding some top end zing. This pickup has a moderate to hot output and has improved string separation compared to the Tone Zone. Not to mention this thing LOVES harmonics. In my opinion, this is easily the best and most versatile bridge pickup made by DiMarzio.

One of the best mid output Bridge pickups I played so far, Decided to switch all of my Ibanez Jc's bridge pickups to Nortons! It's a very well balance 'open' sounding pickup, almost like an 'Ahh' vowel sound.. hope that made sense to those reading this review, and, the best part, You know how those Low notes sounds on the 6th and 5th string played above the 12th fret., it's very clear and well balance with the Nortons! With a slight tilt towards the treble strings and a slight dip on the bass strings, you'll be amazed how clear and balance your clean and distorted sound will be! This is a modern sounding pickup with a very balance lows and highs, not forgetting a nice in between mids! If ure into clean, mid output sound of a bridge humbucker, the Dimarzio Norton is for you! Btw Thank you Liquid Audio Inc for the prompt delivery! Excellent service!
