*Disclaimer: I had to modify both handles to render them functional. I rated 4 stars because they now work and because I enjoy taking things apart.Issues:1. The non-latch handle opened in the wrong direction. An easy mistake to make when packaging because it's not entirely obvious which non-latch handle goes with which latch handle.Solution: I disassembled the non-latch handle and reversed everything. Disassembly comprised of two snap rings and one coil spring, as well as a few washers. Take a picture as is before starting. Remove snap ring, washer, spring, washer, snap ring. Remove handle and flip the silver inside latch to press against the opposite side, then reassemble. If you took a pic first, just make sure you mirror image it when putting back together.2. Latch-side handle was stiff and wouldn't retract on its own.Solution: I first suspected a faulty spring, but the problem turned out to be the black paint on the metal causing too much friction for the handle to retract. I disassembled this handle (taking a pic first) until I was able to remove the handle. There's a protruding ring where the handle sits against the square base. Use a metal file and/or sandpaper to remove all black paint from the parts of the handle that either go inside or rest against the base. You can test before reassembly.I've included a few pics of the total parts, plus the before and after of the filing and sanding. Another reminder to take pics!Tools used: snap ring pliers, flat head screwdriver, needle nose pliers, metal file, sandpaper.I would guess that the odds of issue #1 happening to you would be relatively low, as it was (understandable) human error during packaging. Issue #2 may be more prominent, as that seems to be a production issue during the painting process.Otherwise, it's a nice handle. The actual install was easy. It looks nice and functions properly. I completely understand how some people would get annoyed because they expect a product that works out of the box, but try to look on the bright side of problems. Troubleshoot. Solve. Learn stuff. Share that info with others. You're more capable than you give yourself credit for. You've got this.

Quality hardware sold construction but is limited on door location. So in my case I have depending on where your standing gate. On the outside of the fence looking in, it’s a left hand inner swing gate. With that said if you have this gate this handle will not work the way you want. Hand swing down is what ya want for open then nope find something else. It’s spring loaded in one direction. Just trust me it doesn’t work. And for the opposite inside the fence looking out it’s a Right Hand inner swinging gate. Does not work.

Needed a latch for a tight space and this latche worked well I had to shorten the tongue a bit but the install was simple and it looks and works great.

This is a very well built latch. Nothing flimsy about this at all. Comes with all the hardware necessary. The spring return on the handle is quite strong as long as your through bolt is straight. I accidentally drilled mine at a slight angle and had to increase the size of the hole so that it would turn properly. Only other issue that i had was that the latch plate was a little long for my tastes so i took and angle grinder and shortened it and now it's perfect. Overall, very very good product and 10x better than the standard gate latches you see on the market.

This gate latch is well made and has a simple design and mechanism. The handle turns smoothly lifting the metal latch. It is evenly painted and finished. Nice product!
