Good quality plug. Made in China.Pros:Housing is easy to open, with 2 screws holding it together.Housing holds together well when assembled.Power lugs are heavy duty, made of thick enough metal that is corrosion resistant, with fat screws.Cable clamp is inside the housing and has 2 screws to hold it together and grip the cable.Good gripping surface on the outside of the housing.Cons:Didn't find any yet.I might update this review later.

This is very similar to the Reliance Controls 50A connect but at 1/3 of the cost. Getting the two halves lined back up so you can install the screws is a little tricky but otherwise fairly easy to assemble.

This is a dedicated twist-lock for a 50 amp receptacle. It is not for a 30 amp. Requires a 6-3+ground.The SS2-50R is a marine designation. The "SS" means "Ship to Shore" and the R stands for Receptacle. This style is also referred to as an L6-50 where the 6 represents 240v.As for the product it is certified, all plastic, two part housing with two screws that secure the two parts together and 2 screws for the internal strain relief. 6-3 wire is stranded so it should not put up too much of a fight just be sure to pay attention to the color codes on the receptacle and match up the correct wire to each terminal securing them tightly. I like this connector because the base/cover attaches independently of the receptacle. This makes it easier to put this back together after the wires are connected.Cheers

Plug seems well built. The plastic is GFR and not too brittle. Good strain relief provisions (if not a little on the large end for 8/4 wire), and its metal center pin indexes firmly with the appropriate receptacle. Just what I needed!

Opened it up and was pleasantly surprised by the materials/workmanship inside. I normally wouldn't spring for a non- name-brand unit but wanted to try this out. I will report back if there is any issues long term, but so far so good. Includes just the connector and nothing else (wire/etc).

I needed to make an adapter for my generator to hook it up to my houses 50a inlet. This cord end worked out great. The internal clamping mechanism holds the wire tightly to relieve strain from the terminals. The terminals are color coded for easier installation Red, Black, White and Green.
