Not entirely thrilled with this product although it will do what I purchased it for. It arrived in an undamaged box, yet with multiple scratches in the paint. Beyond that, paint coverage, particularly on the inside, is inconsistent and barely covers in several places. The mounting back plate is flimsy and has sharp edges. There doesn't seem to be an IP rating for weatherproofness on this box but it is claimed to be NEMA 4. There is a gasket on the door lid and they do include a foam gasket to seal the bottom entry plate.On the plus side, the latch and lock on the door is quite well made. The box is square and solidly made. Comes with mounting hardware as well.All in all, it is an acceptable box - particularly for the price point. I would buy it again with the knowledge that there will necessarily be flaws in it. The one unforgiveable is that the box was packed and shipped with obvious scratches in the paint and incomplete paint coverage on the interior.

These boxes are pretty decent quality, but they're no Hoffman or Hammond. Mainly, the steel is a lighter guage, the paint is less durable, and they're included through holes in the rear, which disqualify them from being NEMA 12.I guess the only upside of them is price and they include the backplane and hardware.Regardless, my customer thought the control station I made with it was excellent. I'm certain to buy more of these boxes.I believe 4/5 stars is appropriate for light industrial applications.

I did not get this for its intended use. I needed something to keep all of my plugs for yard decorations dry. This thing works but only has the large opening at the bottom as access for wiring and so I had to rig it a little for my needs. The box seems sturdy and when used as intended it should be perfectly fine for someone. It’s working to keep my plugs dry but other boxes I have work better for this and have more sealed entry points for wires. I need this for its size though. Would recommend for on wall installation for sure.

This page shows a number of industrial/commercial applications for this junction box, but I've also been able to put it to good use at my personal residence. My situation may be a little unusual, but I have three drainage pumps in my backyard, plus a number of security cameras, and landscape lighting as well. I've used this box for making waterproof connections and keeping things organized. It's now about full and I might need to add a second box if I keep adding electrical stuff. It's a solid, sturdy box and can even be locked. Includes two keys. Very well-built. Should last a LONG time!
