This rifle is surprisingly well made. The amount of upgrades available from the manufacturer is awesome but they can be hard to find (more on this below). Out of the box mine shot an average of 393 FPS with 0.20 gram BBS. The knock on this rifle is that it's under volumed. EDgi makes the Nemo large volume kit but it's extremely expensive. Most people don't realize it but Area offer tons of great upgrades including a stainless cylinder in the standard volume, a stainless high volume cylinder and even a C02 cylinder. The high volume cylinder is like 1/5th the cost of the Edgi nemo kit. They have different barrels, bolt handles, pistons, springs etc etc. The problem is I can't find any of that at any US airsoft stores. But you can order it directly from Area which is what I did. With the high volume stainless cylinder this gun out volumes the Tokyo Marui VSR-10 and it's built better and costs less. This thing really is a home run.

Ares got it right when they introduced the striker platform. First is to understand one thing, you don't just buy the striker, you BUILD it. It's a good out of the box sniper with good fps and shoots straight. That's entry level performance which is fine if you want to keep it that way.... it will work great and be reliable for you. If you're like most sniper users you'll want to add on and or upgrade parts as desired for performance and looks etc. There are so many striker specific accessories which are available right now and it already stands out from the crowd with it's great design and style. The short pull is super simple and quick. The magazines are 45 rounds which is way more than avg, plus the mags are big and very solid and for sure will never break. Great mag design. A scope and an action army hop up adjustment wheel is a must when buying this gun fyi. The stock hop up adjustment requires use of the provided Allen key which is a dumb design. That's why I say get the quick adjustment hop up wheel parr to replace the stock hop adjustment. Very easy to take apart with the integrated Alan keys in the grip storage area. Super solid stock body and strong nice looking fluted solid barrel.... there is no way you can break this sniper, it's built like a tank vs something like a vsr 10 sniper for example. It's nice Ares added the ability to adjust trigger pull force and trigger travel, very nice. Wish it had more rails than the one top rail but adding more rails is pretty easy. Very robust and versatile you can keep the sniper simple and accurate as it is, or you can upgrade parts to further increase fps and accuracy. Sky is the limit. We upgraded the striker to hit over 600 fps and swapped out some stock parts and replaced them with the highest end parts available to get the absolute maximum performance outta this gun, such as.... upgraded dual bore barrel, 90 degree EdGi sear, AA hop up chamber, 70 degree decepticon bucking, omega nub, EdGi 600 fps NEMO tuning kit which includes top of the line spring, heat treated solid steel cylinder, guide pin, piston, cylinder head etc. The Striker now slings .46g bbs over 100 meters easily. When modified this sniper can and will outshoot all other snipers on the field with precision parts installed. Or you can just keep it stock and have an all around good shooting reliable gun which stays consistent, and is actually pretty quiet due to the long barrel and cylinder/piston design. The versatility of this sniper is what makes it great and a lower entry price point allows you to jump in and have cash left over for future mods. Worth every dollar. Buy it. Build it. Love it.

I have this gun and wanted to submit a review since it originally had one star. 1st thing to know all airsoft rifles are not that good out of the box. Your 1st purchase needs to be a scope otherwise you have no clue as to where the bb is going and how it is shooting. For this gun 2nd purchase will need to be a better spring and bucking and now you have a dependable sniper. All snipers should be viewed as buying a platform that is needed upgrades. This platform is awesome cause there are many options and many DIY mods that cost little money to make this an awesome gun but you can also spend a lot of money as well. Plus the looks of it make it different from what's out there that sets it apart. If you are new to airsoft stay away from snipers for now. This gun unlike other platforms such as the VSR10 or Scout holds more rounds. Has a shorter bolt pull that allows for AEG springs which is a cool feature. This gun is easy and quick to take a part for upgrades or repairs. I would recommend this gun. If new or you dont want to upgrade then look for $80. McMillan Sport, Cmya Scout, or JG Bar10.

I bought this weapon over on amazon, but am sharing this here.Do NOT buy this weapon unless you are comfortable with teching it.Reason:This weapon suffers from pretty bad QC thanks to ares. There is an issue with the sear pins encasing not being long enough to prevent the sears from twisting. What this means? This gives you what's called a "Dead Man's Trigger".This is caused by the upper sear twisting in place because it's not tight enough. When the trigger is pulled the sear is depressed, but not enough to release the bolt and you get a "click" without the weapon firing. Even worse, this causes metal to flake off the back of the piston, because again the sear is twisted. Flaking small metal bits into the trigger box, barrel, hop ect. This is horrendous. I teched the weapon myself adding AEG shims to the sear pins to fix the problem, but this shouldn't have to be done.Cmon Ares..EDIT:After less than 1k rounds the stock spring has already lost 12% of it's power.EDIT 2:I have dropped the rating to one star. Ares refused to work with me to replace the parts that SHOULD have failed QC, and told me i would have to pay for shipping and the parts. I couldn't take it anymore, I have sent the product back to the seller as it was completely unable to operate without new parts directly from the manufacturer. I have about 180USD$ in upgrades that i can't do anything with.Pretty upset, will not be purchasing from ARES or any sister company from now on.
