They work well for my Jackson Pro Series V, didn't need to file the ends, they slipped right in and they are pretty close to original feel and look. I dive bomb the hell out of them and they work fine, no noise.

The wound spring part is shorter than standard springs, also, the tips of the end have overhanging burrs making them not fit in the tremelo block holes. So you have to file them.

Very close to the OEM springs in my Jackson. All of the key attributes were there: length, diameter, and tension. Only issue was that when the ends were cut, the metal was deformed enough that the end of the spring would not fit into the block until I filed the metal so it was round again. Its to be expected to have the metal deform when you cut them (if you've ever cut a piece of electrical wire you would use in a house, you would notice this). All you need is a metal file and a minute or two. The only thing I don't is whether the springs that cost 3-4 times as much fix the issue before they ship them or if you have the same problem with them. I'd take off a star for this, but add one back on for the price.

I have an off brand strat that had weak springs, and tuning it was awful with thicker strings. I haven't had a problem tuning ever since I installed these. It was a bit difficult to stretch them while putting them in place, so I just put the hoop on a screw driver, and they slid on nicely.
