it does work, i am using with windows 11 and legacy media playereject is ctl-J btwwill not load the cd except by pushing it in by handwhich is one of the problems - you have to hold it with both hands to load the cd, close the drawer, AND take the cd outyou wish it was fastened down to something but it isn;talso the top is a bit thin so you have to push the drawer past a slight glitchbut it does workand it is cheap

Awesome CD/DVD player. Was a huge bargin deal. Plays and downloads CDs in a timely manner. Plays DVDs well too.

Works great plugged into my laptop that doesn't have a CD drive. I have no complaints this thing works great.

I worked and worked to get this darned thing to actually PLAY a video ... but no luck.I plugged this CD/DVD drive into my Lenovo Laptop, running fully updated Windows 10. The drive seemed to install correctly, but wouldn't actually play the video. I checked the Device Manager, the drive did install, and the correct drivers did install, as well. The Device Manager identified this drive as: Matshita DVD-RAM UJ8E3 USB device.I use VLC Media Player to play all of my videos, whether they come from an external device, or directly from my hard drive. This Aelrsoch drive did open my VLC Media Player properly, and could "see" the dvd that I was trying to play. And I could feel the device vibrating from spinning the dvd. But, it just wouldn't actually PLAY the video. I tried 5 different dvd's that I knew DID work properly, no luck. I tried the device in all three of the usb connections on my laptop, no luck. I restarted my computer with the dvd player plugged in during the restart, and also tried plugging it into the computer AFTER restarting, again, no luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled my VLC Media Player, made sure it did work, and tried it, again, no luck.I didn't try this dvd player with any cd's ... sheesh, I don't think I even HAVE any cd's any more, gave 'em all away. But since I got this player specifically to use for playing dvd's, whether or not it played cd's was irrelevant to me.There was a set of instructions included with this device, but they were pitifully inadequate and incorrect, of no help whatsoever, especially when "something" seems to have gone wrong.Based on other reviewers who were able to get their devices working properly, I'm thinking that I may have received a defective unit, especially since the device seems cheaply made. I hope yours works better than mine did.

Man the sound of a cd rom running brings back memories, eh? I'm learning piano and the book came with a CD accompaniment. Well I didn't have any way to play that, so I grabbed this on a whim. The whole body is cheapo plastic. No motorized tray, which I haven't seen since maybe 1996. When it spins up, it sounds like stove vent hood. But it read the CD, no problem and imported it with no issue. Maybe a little slower import than I'm used to, but then again maybe I just have any memory of how long that is supposed to take. It's been a LONG time.Can't beat it for the price!

I got this portable DVD player to play DVDs in my classroom and it works great! It is very lightweight and compatible with my work computer.

This is wonderful quality, very well made and designed and holds up amazingly to travel, packing, and a lot of use! This is perfect for all of those small notebook type computers that are not equipped with an optical drive as well as a secondary optical drive if you have a slow or failing one! This is very easy to plug and play, it connects easily as well as quickly and is very easy to use! Great quality and value!
