The description says the hose ends can be connected so two hoses can be used as a longer hose. The hose received does not have that feature, and the Festool USA product specialist told me that none of the 36mm diameter hoses have that feature. Description was probably cut & paste from a different hose that may have the feature. This hose fits on the OUTSIDE of the port on a Festool Kapex sliding compound miter saw, so has much better dust collection than a 27 mm hose that fits inside the port.

this replaced the smaller version that came with my vac back in 2010 that finally starting splitting. the end that attaches to the tools does need a converter since it is larger than the original. I bought that too. it's a little more cumbersome given the larger diameter. But do like this hose for the wand/floor attachment. debris doesn't get stuck like the older version. So really depends on how you use your vac. if primarily for clean up, this is great. if for attaching to tools, go with the other one

First, regarding the price: I have to laugh at those reviewers saying this hose is expensive. Have they looked at other high-end, anti static hoses? The Festool is quite reasonably priced. As for the utility, I'm suprised at how much I like it, vs the stock CT36 hose. I bought it for the extra suction, as I use my Ct as a shop vac as well, and there is definitely a difference when using the same floor attachments, via the Festool reducer. But I expected this hose to be stiff, heavy, and hard to manuever. Not at all. It's actually more flexible than the much narrower stock hose, and the outer fabric makes it feel nicer, and it catches less when pulled across large objects & furniture.Why did I wait so many years to buy this?

is this the best hose you can buy? In my opinion, yes. is it worth the money? in my opinion, no. It is, however, a Festool product and both of those statements are usually true of all Festool products that I've owned. They are best in class, but also overpriced.Hose is made from quality materials and will probably last longer than I will. It doesn't snag, doesn't kink and its anti-static feature is built to work specifically with the SysVac dust extractor.If you can get past the price tag, you won't be disappointed.

I bought this hose to be used with my Kapex Miter Saw. Does a lot better job collecting dust than the 27mm for the miter saw.

I LIKED THAT THE BRAIDED SURFACE OF HOSE DID NOT CATCH CORNERS AND THE ANTISTATIC MAKES FOR A VERY GOOD VACUUM HOSE.
