Your cart is empty.Fino’s Dual-Sided Espresso Tamper compresses ground espresso coffee into a puck that’s level and dense for a richer, more flavorful espresso brew. Grounds that are too loosely packed allow water to pass through too quickly without extracting any flavor from the coffee. The Dual-Sided Tamper compresses ground espresso into a densely compacted, evenly dispersed puck. The pressurized water then flows more slowly for the richest, most robust extraction possible. It also creates a necessary gap between the top of the grounds and the water disbursement screen so the dampened grounds don’t swell to clog the water flow for a silty mess. Dual ends (50-millimeters and 55-millimeters) fit most portafilter baskets and the 4-ounce weight assists in the tamping process for an effortless preparation. Made from heavyweight aluminum, it resists damage caused by the naturally occurring acids found in coffee. Sturdy and durable. Hand wash in warm, soapy water.

Great product, not too heavy, easy to wipe clean. It does have a finish over it that is ruined by the dishwasher though. Ran it through and it came out a dark metal that left smears on things. That being said, I bought the same product to replace it because it otherwise met my needs.

It’s metal. It’s correctly shaped for the task it is designed for. It’s silver. It serves a single purpose. I suppose it could act as a paperweight, so long as you aren’t in a particularly bad weather situation. Or a wind tunnel. Could you use it to crack walnuts? Sure. But a rock would work just as well. Why would you buy this for walnut cracking anyway? They already have something for that. It’s called a nut cracker. Do not eat this product. That’s not what it is for. This product is not designed to be substituted for a regulation sized basketball according to the official NBA website. It is non-flammable, free range, gluten free and non-GMO. If swelling occurs, please stop using immediately and consult your physician.

I bought a low-end espresso machine at a deep discount, and it came with a plastic spoon/tamper that I used for 3 months, reluctant to spend a lot of money (as I know making good espresso at home can get very expensive very quickly.) This is an excellent solution to my plastic problem. The smaller end of the tamper fits perfectly, and the size and weight just feel good when pressing down. I have medium-sized girl hands, and I like the how easy it is to apply pressure with my palm on the flat surface versus rounded knobs on other tampers. I was exceptionally pleased with this purchase, especially for the price.

If you are not looking for something really fancy and just want a nice functional coffee tamper. This is the thing for you. I was expecting it to be heavier than it is, super ergonomical and easy to use!
