I got this floating net for fishing from a paddleboard. Knowing that capsize was always a potential risk, I didn't want a net that could head straight to the bottom, and I wanted a long enough handle to reach without having to lean too far. This net solves both of those problems readily. It floats with plenty of buoyancy to grab it if it goes swimming. As all of my gear ends up in a lashed-down milk crate on the board, it's nice having the ability to fold the net and get it out of my way while traveling, then simply unfold it so that it's ready for use when I'm fishing again. The handle feels solid and the rubberized net should help avoid fouling hooks in the mesh. As far as size, it's bigger than I'll need if I'm looking for trout, but fine for bass fishing, and probably smaller than I'd want for much ocean fishing, but that's not a problem for my needs. Very pleased with this net.

I got this net to go in our fishing boat. The bonus of this net for me was the fact that it was blue which is the color of our boat. The net and pole both is made of good quality materials. The net extends and folds and unfolds nicely and smoothly. The size of the net is just the right size to fit nicely in the boat storage. The net is rubberized which is easy on the fish and helps avoid the hooks getting caught in the mesh, which makes it very easy to get the fish out without getting into a tangled mess trying to get the hook out of the net with a flopping fish. The handle is made out of good quality thickness aluminum that does not make it heavy. I love the fact that the net is floating, and I won't lose it in the bottom of the lake or blue river if I was to drop it. This net is great for kayaking, boating, or to clip onto your waders and it will float along with you for easy access. Great neat and well worth the money. The net is big enough to hold a nice size bass, trout, or any smaller fish you may catch. I don't think it would hold a lot of the bigger saltwater fish which is not a problem for me.

I do like the rubber mesh vs fabric, you just don't have as much trouble with hooks getting stuck in it. This is very functional. The folding action is easy to use, and makes it much more compact. I am often fishing from a canoe, and packing my gear so that is really helpful. Also, it is pretty light, so great for my purposes. The telescoping feature is handy, although I'm not sure I will use it. I haven't tested the floatability of this net, but I have no doubt that it will. At least for a while. If it were left in the water for an extended period of time I could see it filling with water, and not floating well. There is a foam ring around the net area that will keep that part upright, but if the handle were full of water, it may not suspend quite as high in the water. It isn't designed to be sitting in the water for an extended period of time, so that isn't really a concern, and agian, I haven't tested the floatation.

My husband and I have a two person fishing kayak that we love to take out for a full day of fishing. I've been wanting to pick up a fishing net, in case we catch a large fish, as it can be a little difficult to land a large fish on the kayak. I was very pleased with the quality of this net when it arrived. It is a very high quality rubberized net which I have admired at stores for some time. The design of this folding net is perfect, as space on the kayak can be limited. It extends easily and folds back up without any difficulty. I love how easily this can be used. Folding it up and clipping it to your backpack or belt for carrying around is so convenient. I am extremely pleased with this order!

This landing net is pretty close to perfect really and the only improvement I could see is if the net hoop were foldable. It's got a nice wide hoop and the bucket is plenty deep for days on the lake in the boat fishing for most anything.

I find this fishing net to be super handy and just right for my little antique aluminum boat. I can also see it being great for a kayak or to clip/throw in a backpack when hiking to a favorite fishing hole. It's lightweight, easy to operate, and the folding handle allows it to be condensed into a very manageable size, yet the net area is big enough for most of what can be caught in the lakes around here on ordinary tackle. The telescopic handle doesn't extend all that long, so I'd think it's best for use in lower riding vessels or for standing on the banks close to the water. All in all, the product description and photos fairly reflects the net I received and I think it's a winner. Just my own opinions and experience here, yours may differ. Thanks and good luck!

The net itself works fine. I tested it at the lake and it does float. It telescopes and folds down to more manageable size to carry. The down side is that the clip to hold the net is on side where the hinge opens. It doesn’t lock in the closed position so sometimes while your walking the net will unfold.
