Attached this to my Sony a6000 and the mount is solid and secure. There were no instructions with the adapter, but going online to forums and reviews for research, I expected that and had no problem getting it to work. I currently have my Nikon 50mm 1.8D lens on my Sony and have had no problems. Manual focusing is a breeze and I have access to all my Nikon glass now.

Contents of the box was the adapter only; wrapped in a small plastic bag. No pouch and no end caps for the adapter openings. I can use the rear lens cap that came with one of my Sony lenses and a body cap from one of my Nikons. Perhaps they envisioned users doing this and saved a few pennies by not providing them with the adapter itself but I would like to have been provided a set with the adapter. Likewise, there were no instructions. (I did not think these two things were worth taking a star away from something that does what it is supposed to do and does it well.)The adapter feels substantial and well-made when you pick it up.It is a simple device – as we know – no electrical connections are made between lens and camera body.It provides a superb and reassuring fit between camera/adapter/lens.Attachment was just as you would want it to be – secure, stable, no wobble in any lateral direction while some slight rotational movement was noted but nothing in excess of what a typical lens-to-body attachment would exhibit.I have tried it with 200 mm macro “D” lens (aperture ring/control on lens barrel) and 14-24 mm zoom “G” lens (no aperture control). Both worked well.“Aperture” control on the adapter had much less travel than I expected but I realized the travel is limited by the travel available within the body of the lens when engaging the aperture control within the lens itself (in the case of the D lenses). I think I was expecting something like focus ring travel but of course it would not be that much. I just hadn’t thought about it before using the adapter.Focus peaking together with Zebra allowed good control of exposure and focus. (I am really loving this focus-peaking thing with my Sony a7ii.)Buttery smooth removal from lens and from the camera body. No trouble as some have reported with attaching or removing the adapter to/from lenses. NOTE: The Release button is NOT a “button” at all; it is actually a lever that you push away from the lens to release the adapter and allow it to be rotated and removed from the lens. I have read comments from several reviewers stating that “no matter how hard they pushed the button” it was exceedingly difficult to remove the adapter from the lens. They just were not doing it correctly.Instructions they SHOULD have provided -When using with a Nikon D-series lens (aperture control ring on the lens itself):• Find the small slide switch ON THE LENS BARREL and make sure it is in the unlocked position (usually toward to the front of the lens) and verify that the aperture ring on the lens can be rotated• Rotate the aperture ring ON THE ADAPTER fully CW when viewed as looking through the camera (might consider using a bit of gaffer’s tape to be sure it doesn't move)• Make your exposure adjustments using the aperture ring ON THE LENS as necessary• If you are using a D-series lens but want to use the aperture adjustment on the adapter then rotate the aperture ring ON THE LENS to its smallest aperture (typically 32 or similar) and slide the lock switch to the locked position.• Make aperture adjustments on the control ring OF THE ADAPTER.When using a Nikon G-series (no manual aperture adjustment control on the lens):• This is easy because the only control you have is the ring on the adapter• Rotate the adapter control ring as needed provide the exposure you want based up other settings you have made• The control ring does NOT move much at all from full open down to smallest apertureWith either type of lens, make your exposure adjustments while looking through the viewfinder or on the monitor. Use of focus-peaking is very helpful for optimizing the focus which, of course, is manually adjusted when using one of these adapters with Nikon lenses. Turning on the Zebra function (first setting under the “gear wheel” in the Menus) is also VERY helpful to control exposure.

Après quelques jours passés avec cette bague adaptatrice répond à mes attentes, la construction et finition sont bonnes.La bague de contrôle du diaph a par contre une course assez courte, mais vu le prix on s'en contentera très bien.

These adapters obviously have terrible quality control. I bought one to use my Nikon lenses on a rented FS700, and the adapter would not mount on either the lenses or the camera. this obviously rendered it completely useless. Other people seem to have gotten copies that work fine, but just know that you're rolling the dice ordering this adapter. At least Amazon has great customer service and an easy return policy.

This adapter allows me to use my older Nikon-AF lenses from my film camera on my Sony Nex-5R. It fits tightly to the lens, and the whole assembly then fits snugly to the camera body. Because there is no electronic connection between he lens and the camera with this adapter, auto focus is not available. However the NEX-5R has 'Focus Assist' which highlights in colour the objects which are in focus, so manual focus is easy and quick. The results are outstanding! Pin sharp pictures and easy to use.Cons: No instructions are included. There is a slider marked Open and Lock, and no indication what that means. It seems that Lock actually locks the aperture wide open, so all pictures are taken at the widest aperture of the lens so you need to use Shutter Priority. The Open setting actually lets you adjust the aperture on the lens so you can control depth of field, and can use Aperture Priority. This is a good function, but it took a while to figure out what each meant and did - so instructions would have been nice. Note that when you stop down the aperture, the camera adjust the brightness of the LCD display to compensate! The built in tripod mount works well for me on a 70-210 lens which is the heaviest I have, so no problems there. All in all I would buy this again - I'm considering buying another so I don't have to change adapters when I change lenses.

This adapter works flawlessly with every Nikon mount lens I have tried on my SONY NEX-7! This includes a 35mm f2D, 50mm f1.4G, Tokina 100m macro, and a Sigma 10-20 super wide angle. I can only guess that all of my other lenses will work beautifully as well. I find it to be the perfect solution at a reasonable price for my NEX-7 and Nikon glass. The focus outlines that the NEX-7 displays on the screen make this an absolute blast to use, so the lack of an auto focus motor is no issue for me.Some are stating (on various Fotodiox reviews) that the adapter is junk because it won't auto focus. As another reviewer stated, read the description before you buy something you know nothing about. It's common sense. This is solidly built, snaps onto my NEX with a click and works exactly as advertised. I like it so much that I have just purchased another model to use my Pentax 50mm with my NEX. Simply awesome!

I purchased 4 different version of this adapter for my Sony NEX-7. I have posted the same review for all 4 of them.1- Contax- G2, The fit is great on both camera and lense side and I did not notice any IQ degradation. The focus ring initially was a bit hard to work. Partly because the ring is close to the body and there is not much room. The lense also requires some torque to move the internal parts. But after I played with it attached to the lens but off the camera it losend up. Take your time attaching the lense to the adapter not to damage the focusing mechanism. Those of you who have this lense know why. I just wanted to remind you.2- Canon, The fit on the camera side has a bit of rotational play but dose not seems to effect the Proformance the lense side is perfect. I dont have recent canon lenses. My canon lens is very old, 70's 50 mm 1.4, no issue with the IQ. This was the first lense I ever bought. With a AT1 body.3- Leica M39, Both side fit is great but some some color aberrations on the edges. Not sure if I can fix it in LR.4- Nikon, The fit is great on both side. Great IQ no issues at all. I have an extensive collection of AFS and AF 2.8 and pro quality lenses as well as some kit lenses that I have collected as they came with backup cameras I purchased from time to time. So far any one that I have tried worked with out any issues.Over all the adapters are well made and great buy. Hope this help...

I purchased this so I could use my NIKON lenses on my NEX-3, it works very well however the product comes with NO documentation whatsoever and even the manufacturer's website has no real instruction. If the seller reads this PLEASE package some instructions with your product. In order for the camera to recognize your nikon/canon lens you need to set, under the MENU "release without lens Enable" Once you set that to enabled then you can use the camera with your other lenses.Another thing the 2 small screws that are used to attach the base where one would screw into a tripod plate, could be a little longer than they are, they have come off my adapter and im having a pretty hard time adding them in, as it is now they have extremely small clearance to catch the threads of the holes. Aside from that, product works fine.
