I'm SO torn over how to review this lamp. I'm going to give it five stars, but there is definitely a but coming. First what's awesome though! When turned on, this little lamp is simply delightful! The normal light has a bright and dim setting, and is a softer warm light rather than a cool white light. It makes it look much more inviting. The colored setting is really where this lamp shines though!I love lights that fade into all the different colors, but the one thing I can't stand is when the lights change so fast you can barely comprehend each color before it's gone again. When the timer is that fast it looks like a frenzied disco ball rather than a decorative light. That's just my two cents. But what I LOVE about this lamp is that the colors fade into each other very slowly---it's soooo soothing!The battery life is shockingly good, and the lamp itself is sturdy and well-made.Here is where the "but" comes in though. When the lamp is turned on it's inviting, stylish, and beautiful. However, when the lamp is turned off the plastic lamp shade is pretty much an eye-sore. I don't like it at all. It has a very fake/plastic look that doesn't blend in well with anything in my house, and it's got this big yellow dot on top that is really quite awful.After a lot of contemplation I've decided to not knock a star off for that, because it's a completely different lamp when it's turned on, and just completely amazing to have in my house. But just be aware that when the lamp is turned off, it's not beautiful or stylish at all!

**** GENERAL ****This is a very attractive and versatile table lamp. It really looks good in my patio in the dark or dim light. Of course it can be used anywhere to suit personal preference. Best of all is it rechargeable.A user guide comes with the lamp. The functions include standard white and many colors. I attached some photo examples (photos 9, 10, 11 and 12). The remote controls all options. The pull cord attached to the lamp has limited option manipulation. There is also a “candle” function that is orange in color where there is a mild flicker to the light.Another function is the lamp can change colors like a photo slide show. The remote can control the speed of the color changes.For my lamp the base part may be solid wood in two pieces glued together. The wood grain on the top of the base continues down the side. The “stem” (?) supporting the “shade” is also made of wood. There appears to be some type of thin finish on the wood. I don't know what it is, but this is a good thing.In my opinion as far as the lamp being snow and rain resistant I have my doubts. I am thinking of the wood portion. From my experience I do not think the wood wold survive much rain. I will only be using the lamp in dry conditions.**** CHARGING ****The greatest thing about this lamp is it is rechargeable. My lamp was partially charged on receipt. I was able to get a full charge in about two hours.The charging specs in the user guide say 5 volts 2 or 1 amp. The tag on the bottom of the lamp says input 5 volts 1 amp (photo 13). In addition to a low wattage phone type charger a computer or TV USB port that meets these specs should also work.I ran into one issue charging. I have a GaN fast charger that supports PD (power delivery). When I connected to the charger no power was supplied to the lamp. In theory if a device does not negotiate a wattage request the charger should default to 5 watts 2 amps. I ran into this same problem with a rechargeable timer. I'm no expert in this electronics area so I will not ding the lamp. I will just use my older charger.**** REMOTE ****The remote is small in size (photo 3). This about what I expected.The remote is powered by a commonly available CR-25 “coin” type battery (photo 8). Removing the battery tray without breaking it may not be obvious. Looking at photo 7 move the small piece to the right (orange arrow), keep it in place and then pull the battery tray out (green arrow).I tested the range of the remote. Using a tape measure I was not able to get a consistent response from the lamp from a distance greater than seven feet. This is with a clear line of sight. The battery in the remote is the one that came with it from the factory. Maybe others may have different results.

I really love this rechargeable table lamp. It gives off such a cozy, warm glow. The included remote has a number of different settings to choose from. The battery life is solid, and the brightness levels are pleasing. The only downside is the pull chain—it feels a bit flimsy and not as sturdy as the rest of the lamp. That said, it’s not a deal breaker, especially since there's a remote included that can control everything just as well. Overall, a great lamp with thoughtful features and a lovely design!
