Product was exactly what we needed! However, we left a note on our front door requesting that the product be left at certain address ( right across the street) as we left for 3 days, Thanksgiving weekend. The driver DID NOT do as requested. He took the note off the door and placed it on top of the product and left the box on our front door step.Thank goodness our awaiting neighbour saw what happened and picked up the box for us!So perfect product but crazy drop off service!!!

I was a bit hesitant to purchase an aftermarket lamp such as this for my TV, but I figured I would take a chance on one since the price was right. If you are NOT tech savvy please do not be intimidated by the fact that you will be 'messing around with the inner electrical workings of your TV' (as my very impressed family put it). You can, in fact, change the bulbs in a matter of minutes with nothing more than a Phillips-head screwdriver and a quarter--the front panel comes off very easily. A word to the wise though: be very careful when you secure the housing. Screwing it too tight can crack the housing. I was too overly cautious, so I ended up not screwing it in far enough. If it isn't tight enough then you won't get any picture--I was ready to curse this product when it failed to turn on...so don't fret if it doesn't work the first time!As far as the picture color and clarity is concerned, it is without a doubt better than the original lamp I had in its last few months (picture got very dark as it neared the end of its life). The only other thing I would like to mention, and I don't know if this is something unique to me or not, is that the lamp seems to take a little bit to warm up before the picture is displayed on the screen (~15 seconds, sometimes longer). Maybe my lamp still isn't in tight enough, but I think it's a downside to economizing. All in all, you can't get a better bang for your buck. New TVs have really come down in price, but for ~$35 I was able to revive my old TV and make it look like new! Even if the bulb's life is significantly shorter than the name brands, this is still a great deal.

I've had this lamp installed in my TV (Sony KDF-42WE655) for about a month now. Item showed up quicker than expected (3 days). Installation was fairly straightforward. I was a little worried the TV's front panel would snap trying to remove it so I could get to the lamp housing but, it didn't so all was OK there. Loosen the screw holding in the old lamp and slide it out. Slide the new lamp in and screw it in tight. Put the front panel back on and it's done. Definitely did not need a service technician to do this. Now on to review the lamp itself. After installation, plugged in and turned on the TV and it fired right up. The fact that it turned on at all was a good feeling because now I didn't have to watch the Stanley Cup and NBA Finals on a little 23" monitor I was using as my TV while the bigger one was down. I had to take away a star from my review because the light coming from the lamp I received is noticeably reddish/pink compared to the bright white of the original lamp. I noticed it right away during a hockey game when the ice was pink. Anyway, after re-calibrating the colors in the video menu I was able to get it to look fairly good. Not as good as the TV looked brand new, but for the under $40 that I paid + free shipping + ease of installation = a satisfied me. I remember 3-4 years ago these replacement lamps were over $100. Oh and for anyone who's wondering, the lamp I received was branded Dynamic, and the OEM lamp I pulled out was branded Phillips. So if you can get one of the Phillips lamps that Sony uses as OEM lamps, get that one because it's a little brighter, the light produced is comparably whiter, and seeing as the original lamp lasted 6 years for me, I'd say the original Phillips lamps probably last longer (but time will tell). All in all, great purchase and quick delivery.

After six years, and in the middle of a football game on a Sunday afternoon, our Sony Grand WEGA 50 inch rear projection LCD HDTV's picture went black, suddenly and without warning. Seconds later, the sound went out as well. Our "LAMP" light on the front of the TV began flashing.I had been dreading this moment for years, since I recall that when I bought the TV, replacement bulbs cost several hundred dollars. Fearing the worst, I headed for Amazon to see what kind of options there might be. I saw options from inexpensive to mildly expensive, and started reading the reviews. After I stressed about which replacement lamp to buy, and whether the lamp was even the real problem, I decided to buy this one, which comes installed in a full assembly. The bulb arrived quickly, and in truth, took less than fifteen minutes to install from start to finish. The trickiest part was actually getting the front cover off the TV to access the bulb assembly. Once the cover was off, it was a simple matter of removing a few screws, pulling out the bad bulb assembly, putting in the new assembly, and replacing the screws and the cover. Easy peasy. Plus, the new bulb came with the allen wrench tool needed to do the job and full instructions. The TV fired right up after the replacement, and we are back in business.I will admit that I am nervous about how long this bulb will last, as I have read many reviews of replacement bulbs that are only lasting six months to a year. Time will tell, but for now, we are pleased. If this bulb could even last half as long as the six years we got out of the original bulb, I'd be thrilled. I'll be sure to update if a problem comes along down the road. Gotta go now- I have a game to watch!
