These MIAKEE graphite crucibles are very well- made and are built from a fine-grained graphite that can stand high temperatures reached while melting precious metals, etc. I have a propane furnace and an electric assay furnace that can easily reach 2500 degrees F. plus and was very happy to find these listed because of the build quality. I really like the smooth- rounded inner -bottom surfaces that keep even small amounts of melted metal- puddled and ready to pour. These two sizes are perfect for mineral testing and melting brass, aluminum- or concentrates for commercial work or artwork. Excellent crucibles for the price and the pouring lip on the 6KG size really helps to safely transfer large amounts of molten metal into a mold, etc. and the smaller .5KG crucible is great for a quick jewelry or scrap gold dust melt. Great find!

The 0.5kg cup cracked after just one use with silver. Definitely not built to last.

They work well with brass.

Wow these crumbles are awesome I can't wait to get to smelting some metal with these. They are thick walled and look heavy duty to me I unfortunately don't have a pair of the tongs to grab the crucible after I get the metal melted I do however have a forge so I think making a pair of tongs to pick up rhe crucible will be simple I'm going to have to wait to use the crucible though. Since it's been raining so much the past few days the charcoal and wood are too wet to burn. These loom like they will be able to make many castings, and the thickness makes me think these will last a long time, so I'd say they're a good value for the money. I also thought it was just the large crucible by itself i was surprised to find the tiny one inside the large one.

These crucibles seem to be well made and are perfect for small batch smelting. I feel the tiny one may be way too small for my forge but the larger one is perfect for some small casting jobs.

Started seeing small cracks after only a few melt, I expected better durability for the product.

Product Reviewed: Graphite Crucible, 2Pcs #0.5-0.5kg Foundry Clay Black Crucibles for Melting Metal 2X for $13TL;DR; Smooth finish of graphite; good manufacturing packaging; economicalThese are more dense than my other graphite crucibles and have a very smooth finish that looks like a graphite spray might be the finishing touch. The box package was well done at the manufacturer so they arrived in good shape.Only unboxing so far No surprises 5 stars. How I review:Reviews start with 5 stars and I subtract points.- 0 for value but I try to provide guidance-0.5 to -3 for product not matching description e.g. stainless steel is actually plated steel-0.5 to -3 for product missing badly on executionI select products carefully so low (1-3 scores) are rare but detailed comments and critiques almost always are in the review. Most of my reviews come out 4-5 range. If possible I dismantle or destroy items to examine inner workings.

I don't have a proper foundry yet but this crucible worked great just shielded with drywall scraps and heated with a weed burner I was able to get 70-30 brass up to full casting temp around 1850-1900f. I didn't do any pre-firing treatment or special cool down it was just blasted to cherry red and cooled in air after I poured the brass. I used hobart brazing flux to minimize zinc burn off and help the brass flow cleanly but that's expensive flux so I'll probably try borax next time I just didn't have any. After cooling crucible looks just fine, the drips are just my glassy flux residue which will melt next time it's fired and combine with the new flux.Good value I'll probably buy another set so each metal I use brass/bronze/aluminum can have their own crucible.
