Working from a car allows you to get much closer to birds and mammals, but you need to support your telephoto lenses for sharp pictures. The H shaped design of this Bean bag allows it to grip the door instead of sagging. Even the window glass will support it allowing the camera height to be altered by winding the window up and down. It is a great improvement on a standard beanbag. Approximately 22cm square it is in effect two bags sewn together allowing the contents to move from one half to the other, which creates the gripping action. It is made of a tough green camouflage DPM material. This bag is now supplied full of Polystyrene. It has a zipped entrance should you ever wish to change this. Two tabs are attached so that the bag can be tied to a vehicle in case it should fall to the ground. This bag is also available on the Amazon web site empty ready for filling with beans or rice etc.

Forget this one if you're trying to use it with a 500 or 600 mm lens on an open car window. The crease isn't large enough to hold the bag in place. I end up having to hold the bag with one hand!

Works like a charm, this bag will stay in my car, had a bunch of white snow geese landing at our local refuge, placed the bean bag over the door, and placed my large lenses on it, and noticed right off the reduction in vibrations and shaking, before I bought this bean bag, I mostly hand held, or placed the lenses over the car glass window, or doors edge, which still works with my smaller lenses, but the telephoto, I could never completely hold it steady enough to get truly sharp photo. Our local wildlife refuge has a bird blind with portal holes to rest your camera/lenses on, I set the bean bag over the edge of the portal, and started shooting away, and, again, noticed the new found steadiness vs hand holding or resting the lenses on the wooden edge of the portal. Since I do most of my bird photos via the car, the bean bag has become one of my most useful tools, don't know why I didn't thing about this before... The camo colored bean bag is also a plus when photographing birds.

I found it difficult to use the bean bag and manipulate the telephoto lens at the same time because the bag gets in the way.

I guess it works OK but it is much smaller than it looks in the ad. It is a bit hard to put in place but once it is set up and the camera weight is on it you are good to go.

Photo opportunities for wildlife appear then disappear quickly. Too fast for a tripod and yet long lenses need support, even with anti-shake technology. This improves the tried and true bean bag design by allowing it to hold steady on a window or branch. Nothing to adjust, just plonk it down and take the shot.Good product, solid, easy and effective. Worth the price.

Look a great product and as described. Just the right size for my 500mm lens. I was tempted to buy the version pre-filled with polystyrene, but decided it was better to have the empty one and fill it with heavier beans or seeds for better stability.
