I accidentally ordered a small, which won't fit me (normally a size 32 mens waist), so I haven't worn these; this review is based off of receiving the item and looking at the quality and functionality. The pictures online are pretty accurate to the type of material, cut and finish of the shorts. They have a strap belt with a plastic buckle; I'm really happy to see the belt isn't permanently attached as some shorts that include a strap belt do - that way if you either don't like this belt, or the buckle breaks, you can remove it or replace it. The zippers seem sturdy and move smoothly.Decent selection of pockets on the front, but I've never understood why some pants include only 1 back pocket.I was hoping they were more "army green" like Boy Scout shorts, but they are a bit brighter than that. Not obnoxiously bright, just not that drab army green to match the Boy Scout uniform.

These shorts are every bit as good as my favorite pair of Columbia ones. They are lightweight, quick-drying, and have 5 zippered pockets. The water-repellent fabric and UPF50 protection are great for camping or hiking. Comfortable, breathable, and very well made at a much lower price than my Columbia ones!

Cool cargo shorts. Love the material. It's so comfortable and breathable. Recycled polyester and spandex. Perfect for the summer heat here.I like the length and the color. I was encouraged to get the small. I'm 5-11, 152 pounds. The waist is a little snug, but I have a feeling the stretchy part on the sides of the waistline will start expanding when I walk regularly in them and launder them. The only thing I didn't like as much was the cost. I don't think it's unfair, but $35 means I'm taking the chance that these will last at least two summer seasons. Other than that, I recommend this garment.

My Haimont Men's Hiking Cargo shorts arrived today from the HAIMONT Store. I ordered size 3XL because I have a 44 inch waist. After trying them on, I still found them to be rather tight in the waist. I don't usually wear my pants that tight but I think they will work for me, provided that they do not shrink when washed. With a 95% poly and 5% spandex, they most likely will not shrink & they are a quick dry fabric. They also have elastic in the waistband which should also help. They come with a custom belt just for these shorts. It can be removed but it would be quite a pain to do so as the belt is threaded through the four 4 1/4" wide belt loops. Threading it back through those loops would be a time consuming process so I presume I will be laundering the shorts with the belt on them. They are machine washable so that is a good thing. At first glance they look to be more of a dress short rather than a hiking short. I like it that the shorts have a UPF 50+ rating. Here in Arizona our sun is forever and fierce along with our over 100 days per year above 100 degrees F. I will primarily wear them camping, fishing or working in my yard to give me UPF 50+ sun protection. The fabric is like a very tight weave. I have thought about snagging I think the shorts have the potential to do so.These shorts have many pockets, 5 to be exact and they are all zippered with medium weight zippers. These also have a "D" ring fastened at the waist in front to hook on keys, compass, a pocket knife or something of the sort. That is a nice touch that I really like. They are very water repellent so from a fishing standpoint these would be a good pair of shorts to wear for that activity. The shorts hit me right at the top of my knees and I am 5' 9 1/2" tall. I like the length as it is just about perfect. In summary, they appear to be of good, quality construction and should be very comfortable to wear. I believe these shorts deserve a FOUR STAR rating but only because they are tight fitting to my 44" inch waist & advertised the 3XL is supposed to fit comfortably to a 44-46" waist.

These shorts have zippers on the pockets, but one of them broke off in the laundry on the first wash. I do like how many pockets there are, and the material is comfortable. I feel like the material is good quality. It came with a belt that can be worn with other pants as well, increasing the versatility of this purchase. Other than the broken zipper key, I'm very happy with these shorts!

I liked the Haimont Men's Quick Dry Hiking Cargo Shorts because they are comfortable, which is partially due to an elastic waistband. A few of the features that I liked about these cargo hiking shorts--they are water repellent, are UPF50 rated camping shorts for sun protection and they have five (5) zippered pockets which is great when camping or hiking. They may be true to size, but I ordered one size up from my normal size and I am glad I did. In addition, I liked that these mid-rise shorts are made of 95% Recycled Polyester, 5% Spandex and are machine washable. I recommend this product to others--especially the hiker in your family--they would make a great gift--five stars!
