I bought these as a trial. We usually use Shoofly or Fly Free leggings. These are very light weight, not the heavy plastic coated mesh like the two mentioned above. I find them perfect for the hind legs. The "stay" that holds them upright is a stiff piece of webbing instead of a piece of hard plastic that can break through the webbing. The horses we're using them on are approx 15 hand quarter horse. If the horse is bigger, you may find these will be tight below the fetlock and knee. As a side note, my herd does not care if they have fly boots on or not. They don't mess with them. Only 4 stars because the velco doesn't extend all the way to the bottom and top. They have stayed in place.

These are not well made. The metal stays that keep the boots up poked through the mesh fabric after only a couple hours of use.

Seem like cheap materials, however they have held up all summer. We had a Tornado, rain, super strong winds, and swampy muck and they have stayed on. Bug free legs!
