Good quality tabletop ice maker. I like that this unit has settings for 2 different size ice cubes. It doesn't take a long time for it to begin making ice. The ice stays in the compartment without melting for a long period of time. Set up was very easy and it looks nice sitting on the countertop.

This little thing is a GEM of an ice maker. It makes ice SO FAST! It literally took about 7-8 minutes to churn out the first drop of ice, and then it just kept on going quickly. This is perfect for our camper so we don't have to use trays or buy bags of ice. On top of that, it looks nice and sleek too!Just an FYI - It isn't a freezer so it doesn't keep your ice cold. This means you should grab it out of the machine as soon as it drops, if possible. When it melts, the water drips back down into the bucket and will just make that into new ice. It will keep thawing/freezing the water in a perpetual cycle. So if you're trying to fill your ice bin to keep for the freezer, you'll want to dump the new ice into your freezer storage bin soon after each drop. Otherwise, you'll have a bunch of wet ice cubes that want to stick together into a block (ask me how I know, lol). A little trial and error and you'll learn pretty quickly. Also, make sure you read the directions: Let it sit on the counter for about 24-hours before plugging in first time, or after moving it around a lot. This is because oils in the compressor need to settle to allow proper lubrication. Otherwise, it could damage the compressor.

I’ve never owned a countertop ice maker before, so I don’t have much to compare it to. The only ice makers I am familiar with are big commercial units in a restaurant or dishwasher-size built-ins.This unit is a good size for the countertop. A little smaller than a toaster oven and about half the size of a standard microwave. This unit does make ice quickly, spitting out the first half dozen or so “cubes” (rounds actually) within a few minutes. It is fairly efficient at making ice and should keep up with what would be needed for any part of up to a couple dozen people or more. The large cubes are about average size and to be honest the small cube setting is not all that different. Without comparing them side-by-side it would be hard to tell the difference. The unit is very easy to setup and use and the design is fairly simplistic which should mean little need for repairs as well as easy cleaning when necessary. It does have a self-clean feature but that is mostly to flush the water lines not a true “cleaning”.The downsides are that this unit is a bit loud. It is louder than our dishwasher, though granted our Bosch dishwasher is one of the quietest units you can buy. It is definitely louder than our fridge when the compressor is running. It is closer to the volume of a hotel air conditioning unit — a well maintained one at least not those you sometimes get at a cheap motel 8 that sounds like a truck grinding gears. It is louder than expected but not so loud as to be disruptive during a party. The ice volume is moderate as well, a bit smaller than a typical freezer cube storage, but since it makes ice so quickly it shouldn’t be much of an issue. It definitely makes ice a LOT faster than our built-in on the fridge so that is a bonus. The shut off for the “ice full” compartment is a simple electronic eye at the edge of the basket for ice, which means it triggers a bit early. Use the included scoop to level out the ice and you can get a few more rounds.Overall a good product. 10 decibels less noise and a slightly larger ice bin and this countertop unit would be perfect.
