Purchased this Korky 2023BP flapper because it was advertised as a replacement for the TOTO THU140S. I have 3 TOTO toilets and one had a flapper leak. I figured that if one flapper was bad, I might as well be proactive and replace all 3, so I bought the 3-pack. The package says "Genuine TOTO", so I was confident that they would fit. WRONG! The flapper appears to fit perfectly, but after a few minutes I could see the water level drop in the tank causing the fill valve to open and top off the level every 5 - 10 minutes. Tried cleaning the sealing rim with an abrasive pad even though it seemed perfectly smooth. No change. Then, just for fun I placed the flapper over the hole without attaching the pivot arms. It sealed perfect! The problem is that there is something wrong with the geometry of this flapper. The stiff arms do not allow the flapper to sit flat on the sealing rim. It's close, but there is just enough mis-match to allow a small leak. If I press lightly on the top of the flapper (arms attached) it seals fine. The real TOTO THU140S has soft flexible pivot arms that allow the flapper to seat as-needed, eliminating any chance of this problem. With about an hour of effort, I used a round file to carve out the pivot holes where the arms attach to the drain valve studs, thus allowing the flapper to sit lower (fully flat) without interference. Now it seals perfectlywith the pivot arms atached. Needles to say, I'm not going to do this on my other TOTO's. After I get a real TOTO THU140S I intend to return the other two Korky's (or maybe all 3!) for a refund.

This flapper is not universal to all Toto toilets. It borders on false advertising, and is pretty frustrating after you replace it twice, replace the guts of the toilet for good measure, and then find that the universal flapper in fact doesn't seal properly for your Toto toilet. I'll never buy a Toto toilet again, nor this flapper. Search online plumbing forums for more info. You'll see some instead recommend the Korky 3060BP.

Wish I would have tried this one months ago and would have saved on our water bill. Much higher quality than the original flappers for our Toto toilets. Quick and easy fix. Toilet flushes much better and no leak!

Fits much better for our toilet than the regular Toto brand flappers which I tried but I didn’t seal properly.
