So far so good. I used this on a clever and chefs knife. Worked fine as the knives were sharpened. Tried it on a smaller boning knife it did not work. The guide was too big.

After using the Kota fixed angle a few times, I learned to sharpen knives without it. Great beginner sharpening stone tool.
