Item arrived on time. Package was beat up with one edge torn open. However, contents were packaged well so all parts present.This item seems well made. Assembly instructions were fine and everything went together fine. It took about 20 minutes.I the put up on my roof (8-12 pitch) and it rolled easy. Then I flipped it over and the arms hooked over the ridge, clearing ridge vent completely. I then made my repair. I am very satisfied with this product and it was money well spent.

These are nice / quality ladder hooks. They are plenty sturdy - they're fabricated from 16 gauge steel tube and 14+ gauge steel plate. They through bolt to my ladder - which is a standard aluminum Werner extension ladder. The hooks hold well whether used with the horizontal foam covered roof protection bars or not. I really like these for supporting my ladder at the ridge while maintaining and cleaning my solar arrays - I'm not even using the ladder most of the time, but it is good to have something secure to hold onto when I need it & in between the rungs is a great place to put tools, buckets and cleaning supplies to ensure they don't go sliding off the roof.5 Stars for The SMOQIO Ladder Hooks~ Thanks for Reading – Have an Incredible Life! ~

I ordered these hooks so that I would not have to lean my ladder on my gutters. They work well, but it took some tweaking to get them there.I first assembled the hooks as shown in the sales pictures. Since the hooks stopped the ladder 6" short of its minimum length, they were too short to hit the roof before the ladder hit the gutter! I re-installed them on the lower side of the ladder and the hooks hit the roof, but the diameter of the pads was not large enough and the metal hook end hit the roof as well and would have damaged it over time (see scuffs on the hook end where it meets the padded bar in second picture). I then flipped the padded bars to the other side of the hooks and the pads hit the roof first and held the ladder off of the gutter as wanted! Unfortunately, if I want to use the ladder over the roof crown on my steep second floor roof, the pads will have to be flipped to the other side of the hook again to keep the hook from hitting the roof. The pads could have been larger diameter or mounted in the end of the hook to prevent this!Another issue I ran into was that tightening the hook mounts on the ladder bent them slightly which skewed the pads somewhat. That in itself was not a big problem since the pads still made good contact with the roof in use, but it also distorted the threads in the bolts and/or nuts, which means they seized tightly when I tried to remove them to flip the hooks! I had to use a pneumatic impact wrench to snap the bolts off and use other bolts to reattach! I used the included wrenches to install the hooks, so I didn't over-torque them during installation! Fortunately, this kit includes plenty of extra bolts, washers and nuts, so I just used some longer ones from the kit and cut them to size. The nuts and bolts are 304 stainless so they should be plenty strong.Pros- well-made heavy gauge hooks do not flex much in use- 304 stainless hardware- easy to install and modify, as long as your ladder does not bend the mount plate and damage the screws!- a lot of extra screws to cover non-standard installations- adds on 8lbs to your ladder's weight- will not damage roof or gutters if installed correctly for your ladderCons- tightening the mount on my ladder bent it due to the slight "I" frame design of the ladder, which caused the bolts to seize. I used 2mm aluminum plates between the ladder and mounts to reduce the bend when I re-installed.- the pads are not big enough in diameter to protect the roof from the hooks both when going over gutters and when used on the roof crown. They would need to be flipped from one side of the hook to the other depending on your ladder use.Overall, I this kit is perfect for my over-the-gutter use and does not add much weight to the ladder. I like the quality components and workmanship. It is hard to make a kit that will fit every ladder, but I think this one is designed to fit most ladders and has extra hardware in case you need it.I recommend this kit!

I love the idea of making a ladder safer to use, especially as I get older and thus more breakable when falling more than an arm's length to the ground.This device helps to stabilize your ladder and makes it easier to rest the top on rooftops, walls, and above gutters to keep from damaging the resting point you choose. It has foam rubber contact points to reduce or eliminate scraping and scratching by the top of the ladder, and your extension ladder can still be completely telescoped closed due to the clever design.All that being said, I had to slightly modify the attachment points at the top of the ladder to allow a more secure connection (added spacers to keep the I-beam of the ladder from being bent). I also reversed the attachment points to provide better standoff when using it above a gutter. Your mileage may vary, depending on how you decide to install these.Recommended!

The Ladder Hooks are very solid. They have some weight to them, so they make my 28' Werner fiberglass ladder that much harder to lift up and move. The wheels do make wheeling the ladder from the garage around the house on the sidewalk much easier but not so much through the grass on the soft yard. I don't need that much anyways so it wasn't that important to me.I feel very safe when I use these hooks. I had a Werner ladder stabilizer and that was not safe for when I was using this to push the ladder of the roof. This Roof Hook is MUCH safer. It bolts on the ladder and when it rests on the roof my ladder does not move at all. The hooks are a nice handle to grab onto when exiting the ladder onto the roof. When I get back on to go down, same thing - feel much safer. The ladder stays in place.I would recommend these to anybody who doesn't mind the extra weight.

Easy to follow instructions, quality material and works perfectly to secure the ladder to the roof without damaging eavestrough. Recommended hands down.
