I got these assuming they would all follow a single unit. But the spaces in between the pegs on these are all different lengths. The first three are units of each other, but then after that they are random except the longest one. My preschoolers are having fun building with them, but they aren't suitable for the kind of math learning I had in mind. I will say, though, that they are reasonably durable. They want to bend them, and the sticks to bounce back after being bent and none have broken.

I am very disappointed to discover that the connection bumps are not measured out to match a unit length, like inches, or to at least be uniform. Some are farther apart than others.You cannot use these to show the construction of 3-4-5 right triangles, for example. Nor can you use these to show that length of "3" plus a length of "4" will add together to be the same length as the piece that appears to be "7" long. Yes, you can constructs geometric snap together shapes, but you cannot use these to take the understanding of how shape effects side lengths further.

I’m am overjoyed with this purchase. I’m a math teacher and I wish I had this tool earlier! I can’t wait to use these manipulatives with my Geometry and Pre-Cal students. It’s a great way to help them visualize concepts about angles, direct relationships between 60/60/60 and 30/60/90 triangles, squares and 45/45/90 triangles and more. I have even figured out how to use the red, yellow, and blue sticks and the protractor to demonstrate the ambiguous case of sine! This product is useful for all ages and is a fun way to explore concepts most students tune out.
