Bought this item for my mom since she’s always out at the campsite and she seems to love it her and all of her friends that go camping and rave about how great of a grill it does as well as grill lines

I have a traditional gas stove and this is a little too short to fit well on the burners, it wobbles amd if you aren't careful it will tilt to the side. It works well otherwise.

I make veggie burgers , pancakes and grilled veggies . I do love this . I like that it was pre seasoned and after a light wash ready to use ! It cooked even and did not stick . I followed directions with lightly oiling with veg oil . Right After use, I poured a little on it wiped and led again a tiny bit . Looks good on the stovetop so there is where it stays !

This is made from cast iron. There are multiple one-star reviews because of rusting or food sticking. This grill does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Do yourself a favor if you’re new to cast iron - go watch a YouTube video on how to season, clean, use, and care for a cast iron grill. You can NOT take this out of the box and cook pancakes on it without prepping it first. You can not “soak” it. You can not put it in a dishwasher. You can not use soap on it. It is made of iron. It fits perfectly on my gas stove top. It cleans easily, once seasoned and maintained. Yes, it is more work than a non-stick coated pan. But it will last a lifetime. The more you use it, the better it works. Again, so many one-star reviews claiming they threw it away after one use. It’s a quality grill that works well. Learn to use it, and you will be very happy.

I’m still breaking it in as far as seasoning to get it to the non stick quality but it’s everything I expected. Firstly it’s very heavy as cast iron is. If you want something lighter go for aluminum, but it won’t hold heat or be as even as cast iron. This one has plenty of space to cook on and the well surrounding in holds plenty as I often like cooking bacon on it. I primarily use the flat griddle side but the grill side works plenty well too if your looking to make grill marks or want extra drainage from whatever you’re cooking. It’s pretty simple to clean. I heat it up and use a wet rag to clean it off and the heavy cooked on food wipes away pretty easily. Afterwards I scrub it in the sink and add a touch of oil back onto it before heating it back up to dry. It’s well mad and should last forever if properly cared for. And even if it develops rust it shouldn’t be hard to strip and re-season.

I been using it a couple times by now and I will say that I love cast iron and how meat comes out. However there are some cons or at least some caveats in using washing and preparing it.For one although it says that it's pre seasoned I suggest you season it by using vegetable oil on the stove top on low and buffing the oil with a lint free towel before baking it at least 3 times(3 times oiling bugging and baking). Also before using make sure you use low flame and give it 10-15 minutes to heat up before using it and make sure you either use butter or oil to coat it first or else it will stick. DO NOT USE SOAP. if you use dish soap you have to re season it and it's a chore. If your lazy in washing dishes this isn't for you. You never want to leave it soaking. You use the plastic scrapers and buy a link chain sponge to scrub it and have a dedicated lint free cloth to dry it and wipe off the excess grease off after scrubbing and water. This will easily rust. To dry after fully wiping put it on the stove turn it on low and let it dry and cool. It is a hassle but the food come out awesome the more you use it the better it gets and the less oil or grease you need to cook but you want to rinse and scrub all the excess or else it will not work right.

Don’t cheap out like I did and buy the largest griddle you could find for the money. Just not worth it. Griddle is warped and does not sit flat on either side. The finish is brutal. Pebbled like a sandy beach. Just terrible quality and overall finish. Going back!!

Came with grinding marks all over griddle side. Expected better quality control. Part of the griddle is smooth from grinding and part is rough from casting. Will be difficult to season and cook on. You expect better when you’re paying 50% more than the other leading brand of grill/griddle.

Overall I would recommend the product. I had an aluminum griddle that came with my Samsung range. I liked it but replaced the original after 1 year and got a replacement that again only lasted year as the Non-Stick coating started pealing after that much use. (I do use mine almost every day)So I went with this Cast iron option for the durability and the additional versatility of the grill side. Also the price was better and the dimensions matched my previous one nearly identically.However.. all the good does come with some negative. Aesthetically there are 2 noticeable blemishes that appear to have occurred at finishing stage of the manufacturing process where they compromised the consistency of the finish by what it appears was attempts at grinding some of the material likely to remove larger blemishes. So unfortunately those blemishes will always be there. If not for those it would be 5 star review.(Follow up 6/10/19)I modified my review from 4 stars to 5 stars as Legend did a great job of customer service and making sure the issue was resolved in any way they could. So in summary my experience with Legend and this product has been great. Additionally.. the griddle itself keeps getting better and better with use! By far my most used piece of cookware.

I love the end result of cooking with cast iron and this really is a good quality cast iron griddle. I have to laugh at the review that says it's "too heavy" ... because...well it's cast iron. I would definitely think something was wrong if it was lightweight. The instructions for cleaning that come with this are more geared towards caring for a skillet - for example, it says the key to a good seasoning layer is buffing, which makes sense for a cast iron skillet, but not for a grill. Getting in between each grill grate with a thin layer of oil and "buffing" it in is a lot more difficult than oiling a skillet. That said, it's worth the labor to get to the end result of perfect grill marks and flavor. It's also worth noting that this griddle is too wide to be used on a long 5th burner. It's more for use across two adjacent burners. If you use this on a 5th burner in the middle of your stove, there's not much room for anything else on the stove top. That was apparently unclear to me when I bought it, but that was my oversight. I still love this thing.
