I have had a few fancy pepper grinders and they are inevitably awkward to use: the last one I could't tell which end was supposed to come off to refill it and eery single time I ended up spilling peppercorns all over the place. This peppermill is really easy to use: it's easy to adjust the grind, it's easy to hold it and grind the pepper over your food, it's easy to refill and nobody has any questions about which end is up. It's a durable and heavy lucite-like material, so it's also hard to break. It's a fool proof device that won't cause a mess or give you any headaches. Highly recommended.

PEPPER GRINDER -CLEAR --You unscrew the nut to open lid, fill with spices, screw nut back on. To grind, you tighten nut for fine grind, and leave it a little looser for coarse, then hold the mid-section of the body of the pepper grinder and rotate the top clockwise to grind peppercorns.I was concerned about the nut being loosened over much and letting the top come loose, so the grind was not as coarse as I might like for some things. Maybe after using it more, I will find the point where I can get maximum coarseness while still feeling the top is secure while using it. But any guests might also over loosen it. I think a longer threaded area might be good. I guess for now it is adequate.The seller says it is suitable for any spice; Himalayan salt, cloves, parsley, as well as peppercorns. 8 in x 2.2 inches in size, it holds about 1/2 cup of peppercorns, and has a sealing ring to keep out moisture from the atmosphere and preserve freshness. That also should be a good feature if using it for grinding salt. The colored varieties of salt or peppercorns and spices would look pretty in it, and of course, the clear container makes it easy to see when you need to refill it which is very handy.

I was looking for a salt grinder and decided to try this one. What can I say? It operates like a good quality spice grinder should. It's easy to fill and the operation is smooth and easy. It doesn't feel like a cheap items. It feels sturdy and like it should last for a good long while.

This crystal clear grinder is beautiful and is just the right height and roundness to avoid being knocked over easily. The grind is smooth and evenly coarse. It can hold quite a good quantity of peppercorns.In transferring peppercorns from my existing grinder of a similar shape and build, I noted that this new grinder did not have as solid a top and no cowl between the top and body. I believe the cowl served as a barrier to the top grinding into the body thereby making the grinder last longer in use and appearance. The bottom cross piece protecting the grinding mechanism is plastic and not terribly durable looking instead of the metal on my existing one. I think the grinder housing is plastic as well. In my experience, plastic doesn't hold up all that well in these grinders.I am very pleased with the appearance and overall build design but have doubts about the durability. At the price, it's a reasonable buy but only time will tell how long it lasts

It's okay. I like the solid feeling of the acrylic, it was packed well and looks nice filled with peppercorns. The grind function works but has very little adjustability. I did (from left to right) fully tightened (fine) one full loosening, and another loosening to get bigger pepper flakes. There's not much difference. The tensioner doesn't seem to do much. Also, the LHS logo is unattractive. They could leave it off of make it less noticeable by making it white. Overall, it's okay but not excellent.
