Product box was not completely covered by mailing box so it was damaged at the unprotected end.As soon as we opened the product box to look inside, we were hit with the strong smell of MOLD! We immediately removed the item to the outdoors. It's strange that the white sheet of paper is very bright and new looking, without any mold. We immediately requested a return. This will sit outside tonight and go straight to UPS tomorrow. YUCK!

No real painting guide, and no help on decals. It comes out ok, but not great. Some details are off.

The parts were way too easy to break and parts were bent as I assembled and it slowly fell apart. This was one of the worst model kits I have gotten. The instructions didn't have many illustrations and I was left in the dark on some parts. The parts also would wobble around in there places and would have required glue, even though it says it snaps together, so if you want to assemble this just get some model glue or super glue. You also want to make sure you have some kind of paint you like to use because it doesn't come with anything but a few stickers. I was not satisfied at all with this purchase and hope to get a refund on this product.

Not a bad kit, considering the scale. Has some features (such as tile detail) that is missing from much larger kits and is missing some important details (such as thrust nozzles on the solid rocket boosters.) The scale is perfect for my use, as an addition to my America in space series of models; all 1:200 scale.

Unbelievable that people are calling this a toy. IT'S A MODEL KIT PEOPLE! DO YOU KNOW WHAT A MODEL IS? IT'S NOT FOR PLAYING WITH! With that being said this is a very simple kit which is just fine. For the price this is an incredible deal! Obviously the higher detailed and larger model kits will be substantially more detailed and more expensive. The ONLY drawback I saw on this kit is that it claims to have all 6 space shuttles represented on the decal sheet when they actually only have 5. They are missing the Challenger. For most people this wouldn't matter but I am making a display with all the shuttles so I purchased 6 of these kits and now I have to find a solution to marking the Challenger. Even with that I do not regret this purchase whatsoever and neither will you if you recognize what this actually is (A MODEL KIT - for building and display) and not a "toy" like those other people are complaining about ("here's your sign people")

I have a small collection of 1/200 scale airliners and factual spacecraft, and wanted to add a "full stack" space shuttle to it. The Hasegawa kit was too darn expensive, so I decided to give this Lindberg kit a try.And I must say it was quite nice, it was easy to build and the parts fit reasonable well. It's actually a "snap-together" model (and the instructions tell you to snap or press the parts in place) even though the box - and Lindberg's website - says the kit requires glue. I used glue on several parts anyway, to give a stronger and better fit. There were two things, however, that were "less good": One is the heavily overdone tile pattern which look rather ridiculous in such a small scale, the other is the complete lack of a painting and decaling diagram. The instructions just end with som words like "now your Shuttle is complete. Paint it white and black and apply the decals as seen on the boxtop". And the heavily retouched photos on the box weren't much help. Luckily there are tons of pictures on the Net and other sources. The box also says the kit contains "the names of all six past and present shuttles", but i doesn't - the Challenger is missing.Carefully painted and decalled, the model looks very good on my shelf alongside the AMT "Man in Space" rocket set. It isn't very big - the whole thing stands about 30 cm (1 ft.) tall, and the shuttle itself is about 17 cm long (less than 7") with a span of about 12 cm (5").

This was a gift for a child who loved it. The packaging was perfect, no dents and the plastic was still intact. He loved it!
