This mason line and levels work great. The line is the standard braided line that normally used for masonry. The braid holds up well to abrasion, and it can be pulled taut without worrying about it snapping. Also, I really like the vivid florescent yellow, this makes it easier to work with and a lot less likely to be tripped over. The little line levels are pretty basic. They get the job done, but they aren't very robust. They do, however, have a decent bubble, and are marked with 2 lines on each end, so you can plan a slope better. The one thing to watch for is that the vials that hold the liquid aren't well attached to the orange plastic retainer, so you might get erroneous readings if the vial starts to pop out. (I went ahead and drop some superglue on them, something that should have been done from the start).

Really nice! We are needing to build some fences for small gardening plots & need to keep my animals out of it so this is perfect to keep everything marked & straight. Love it comes with the little levels to make sure everything is right in order.

I didn’t get this mason line for actual masonry work - though who knows, I’m a DIY guy, so maybe one day I’ll be laying bricks too haha. For now, I grabbed it just to keep in the garage, and it’s already been super handy. The line is strong and ridiculously long. It’s braided nylon, so it doesn’t tangle easily and feels really durable. The bright fluorescent yellow color makes it easy to see whether I’m working indoors or out, which is definitely a big plus. It comes with five little clip-on levels that you can attach when you need to line something up straight - perfect for stuff like hanging shelves or marking reference lines on projects. Of course I tested the levels, and they’re actually very accurate. Funny enough, the main reason I picked this up was to use it as kite string for my 9-year-old daughter (and yes, we didn’t buy one - we built it). It worked perfectly, held up great, and had more than enough length to keep things exciting. But since then, I’ve realized it’s way more useful than just that (well, I’m a bit of a cheater here - I realized it would be useful for a lot more before I even bought the line haha). I’ve already used it to mark off spots in the yard, hang things evenly, bundle random items, and do all sorts of stuff around the garage. And apparently, my wife has her eye on it too - for setting up something in the garden for her cucumbers (already been informed haha). Definitely one of those “good to have around” things that ends up getting used way more than expected. Hope someone will find my review helpful.

As a contractor, I use mason line regularly, and this #18 braided nylon string is top-notch. The 540 feet gives you plenty to work with, and the fluorescent yellow color makes it easy to see even in low light. It’s durable, doesn’t stretch, and holds tight for straight, clean lines. The 5 built-in levels are a clever bonus for quick checks on flatness and alignment. Great for everything from bricklaying to landscaping. A reliable tool that gets the job done right.
