I only have one thing to say...These lures catch fish...While I'm pulling trout in left and right everyone just looks and wishes they had one of these...I keep my trout box fully stocked with just about every color although the white one seems to be trout gold...

I originally purchased one of these lures (Chromatic Shiner) from Dicks Sporting Goods. I immediately went to a local pond to try it out and was pleasantly surprised at how lifelike its motion was. The pond was clear so I was able to see it move and the tail action is perfect. The speed of your retrieve determines how deep it goes. I used a moderate retrieve speed and it stayed within 2-3 feet below the surface which makes this an ideal choice for shallow water fishing.The color I chose (Chromatic Shiner) works amazingly well in clear to moderately clear water. However it has proven to be virtually useless in muddy water that has a lot of suspended sediment. If you dip this lure in the water and it disappears after 2 feet, you're better off not using it. In that scenario the light is unable to penetrate the water to a depth that will make this lure reflective.I went fishing today and ended up losing this lure when a fish snapped my 6lb monofilament line. I just ordered 3 more Chromatic Shiners to have backups. I would recommend this lure to anyone and highly suggest that everyone have one in their tackle box.

Dunno what problems the other person had, they probably bought a used one.That said I've used these in a few colors in the 2inch and 3inch sizes and have produced many trout and bass.All you need to do is know the depth of the fish your targeting and know what fish can be caught in that area, pick the color that matches those minnows and profit.

i use it for trout in both a stream and a lake and it has produced a lot of trout. havent had a chance to try it on any other types of fish yet.

Wow you gotta be kidding. My shipment did arrive early by a day, thats the only positive thing about my order. when I recievedThe Lure, which was a cover article for one of the most popular sporting magizines in the country, I could not believe what was in the box! The lure was worse than cheap looking, the paint was defective, marred and full of pin head air bubbles, the paint was chipped from the back and tail section, other places on the lure had actual brush marks where the paint was poorly touched up. I do not understand how it made it out of the factory in that condition? Makes one wonder.I would not recommend this lure or this company to anyone.
