I bought this MBRP exhaust for my TJ and I hoped it wouldn't be too loud since I'm riding around with the top off. I've driven it around quite a bit with the new exhaust now and one word comes to mind: perfect. It's a perfect balance of low, deep exhaust tones that compliment the feel of driving a Jeep, especially when in low gear going up a hill or off-road. The best is when dropping into lower gear and it rumbles a little louder. The volume isn't loud at all. It's not noticeable at highway speeds even when driving with no top. I will say that it took me a day to install because 1) I tried to work around dropping the skid plate, but had to stop messing around and just drop it anyways (I recommend this) and 2) once I cut and pulled out the old exhaust, I mounted the new exhaust and re-installed the skid plate. However, the tail pipe didn't want to slide into the end of the exhaust chamber, so I had to get an extension for my socket wrench to reach the bolts to readjust the alignment of the exhaust chamber to make it fit. Not hard, but time-consuming. Once it all fell into place, I really had to wrench on the clamp that holds the tail pipe to the chamber to get a tight fit. Sliding it on the rubber brackets wasn't too bad. Overall, doable with minimal tools and worth the effort.

I was disappointed. The picture represents a full black cat back which is what I was hoping for and chose over others. However it is only the pipe and the muffler is not coated. I like the sound and easy install but was not happy at all about the difference in what was displayed and sent.

It was advertised and described as all black. The muffler and adapter are not black. False advertisement. Just be honest with what your selling.

I was going to give this 4 stars because I like it and it gives a nice mellow tone that I really like, but like several people here it just didn't seem to sit on the rear hanger right and would rub on my gas tank skid plate a little, well after going back and trying to rework it some I found out that where the 2 pipes join I didn't have them inserted 100%, After I got them in all the way everything lined up perfectly. Its really easy to install just plan on cutting your old one in half, I used a hacksaw and it only took a few minutes. I love it and would recommend to anyone needing a new exhaust or just wanting a little deeper sound.

This looks better than it sounds! After reading all the other reviews I realized that every review was for a 4.0 engine, I put this on a 2.5 and it is a loud obnoxious noise that makes my teeth rattle when the passing gear kicks in. I was trying to get more power out of the 2.5 by adding cold air, throttle body spacer and the cat back. Regretfully, the cold air and spacer seemed to help but the MBRP added no additional power, just an embarrassing loud noise. But id dose look good!

My OEM exhaust had nearly rusted through so I got this as a replacement. Installation was tricky. Had to drop the transfer case and cut the old exhaust to remove it. Getting the hangers into the rubber supports was difficult. Great product overall. Deep throaty exhaust. But not annoying or over powering. Improved MPG to be determined shortly.

This black exhaust system looked like exactly what I wanted, but I was leery of the price, the powder coating finish, and what the muffler would end up sounding like. I'm happy to report that it's well worth the price, the powder coating is done well (not too thick or brittle, not so lightweight that it won't last), and the mellow rumble it produces is perfect for me. I didn't want the typical "Flowmaster" blat, but still wanted a richer sound than stock, and that's exactly what I got after installing it on my 2005 Jeep Rubicon. Even on the highway there's no drone in my ears, although I am running a hard top...Only downside I can think of is that the tip needed to be pushed on to the tailpipe as far as it would go to keep it from sticking out too far from under the body (running a stubby ended bumper), but that was an easy fix. I did drop my skid plate to access the muffler bolts easier, but someone with smaller hands than mine could probably install this system without even doing that.Simply put, I couldn't be happier with the results.

I installed this exhaust on a 2004 Jeep Wrangler. The install was a little difficult, because my jeep has a large skid plate removing it wasn't a problem, but putting it back by myself was. After the install the muffler was almost touching the skid plate, and the hangers were about 2 inches off. I took it to a friend the following day who owns a automotive shop, and he advised that my exhaust was slightly bent causing the exhaust from the catalytic converter toward the rear to slope down. Took it to a muffler shop, and he corrected the problem for $40. Do not remove the skid plate if you can work around it. The exhaust sounds great!
