I actually NEEDED this plug adapter/extension to get power from my Genmax 11000 generator to be able to backfeed into my house's panel. Because the idiots that designed the generator put a little lip right underneath the outlet where the 50 amp outlet plug is, I was unable to plug my generator cord in all the way, and the generator would not output power to the cord.So with this adapter I am able to safely plug in everything and the generator outputs power which is then backfed into my house's panel to power my entire home. The build quality is solid have been tested already, its a great value because if a hurricane hits this will enable me to get power, the size and design are perfect for the exact use that I need it for.

I have a Westinghouse WGen9500DF, and I use the NEMA 14-50 to backfeed power to my house during prolonged outages. Living in Central Florida that typically means hurricanes. While I can connect the 14-50 plug I've always hated how it rubs against the wheel. There have been times I needed to move the generator a couple feet due to flooding. While it should have been a simple adjustment, due to the rubbing I'd have to disconnect the umbilical cord. This little extension is about 2.5" and fixes the rubbing issue. I did my generator maintenance this morning, and after 30 minutes it doesn't appear to create any sort of weak point.

I recently replaced my EV charger, but when the new on arrived, it was quickly apparent that the plug didn't fit into the box the electrician installed. Because my installation is exterior, the receptacle requires a weather cover. The cover obstructs the large right-angle plug of the charger. This little extender was exactly what I needed to get back to charging.I don't know if it's rated for continuous duty at the specified 50A, but 32A continuous charging over the course of several hours was no problem -- did not detect any voltage drop or heat.

Simple and perfect design. Allows you to easily plug in a 50A plug without worrying if the cable is going to get kinked on something.

When I first saw this, I couldn't figure out why I would need it. It says it's an "adapter" but the input is a 14-50P and the output is 14-50R, so what exactly is it adapting? Space. The cords on 14-50 plugs tend to be 6/4 or 8/4 cords that are, technically, flexible... but not very flexible in reality. This little guy gives you a couple of inches of space to help get your cord where you need it to be, and stay out of the way of the wheels of your generator or other physical space issues.I thought the best test for performance was to plug into my electric car's charging circuit, then run the car at max charge, which for my car is 32 amps, to make sure there's no sign of overheating. Success. This could also be useful if you're plugging your fancy RV or other equipment into a less than wholesome looking receptacle -- any rust, pitting, corrosion, etc., should tend to impact the adapter and not tear up the nice clean connector on your equipment. It might also be useful if you want to avoid plug/unplug cycles on the installed receptacle and let the adapter take the wear.

A must have for the older Westinghouse generators where the 50amp plug is over the tire
