I wanted a lightweight cot/tent combo for my upcoming canoe camping trip and this product fit the bill. I didn't have to get down on the ground to get in and out of my tent. I, also, needed it to be lightweight because I'm traveling by canoe and again, the Night Cat suited my needs. The feet of the cot are not the best design, imo. I was on gravel bars so I bought tennis balls to give the feet a bigger pad. That was a good solution. My feet (I'm 6') did bump against the end of the tent where it angles down to the cot's edge but I didn't feel like that was a big problem. Some campers may not like that. I was dry with the rain shield which clips to the tent. The tent itself straps around the corners of the cot and can be used separately without the cot which added value, imo. I used a 3 inch air mattress for added comfort. Set up and break down was easy if not as quick as a heavier folding cot. A few of my companions were very interested in my Night Cat and one camper ordered one on his way back home from our trip. You're welcome, Night Cat. 🙂

I like to car camp, backpack, and take canoe trips. This tent system, consisting of a very capable backpacking tent and an easy and compact elevated cot, is fabulous. The tent is very easy to erect and has an outstanding rainfly with long "ears" on each edge, presumably to provide coverage of the gap below the cot, but when used as just a tent, these provide additional protection of the sleeping quarters. The floor of the tent seems to not be waterproof, but is very tough material. I will be using a cut-to-fit piece of 6mil plastic sheeting to provide an interior footprint, to ensure that my gear stays dry in any condition. I used a backpacking inflatable pad that fit this tent perfectly and so that provided all of the water protection that I needed for my most recent trip. I do love this tent - the tent pole system is very good and super easy - the pole system is all-in-one; just shake it out and it will snap together and the setup from there takes only a minute....literally 60 to 120 seconds to complete setup! The cot is easy to put together and the leg extensions are optional. I did not try putting the cot w/o leg extensions into the tent, but I believe that would also be a great way to use the cot, if one does not prefer to put the tent on top of the cot. The cot assembly is a bit heavy for multi-day backpacking, but for simple overnights or car camping, it's great! Easy to recommend! This one is a winner.

The set up can be used with the tent attachment, or on its own as just a cot. Although there are quite a lot of steps to set it up, I will save that because it’s so compact, I actually really appreciate, but it breaks down into so many smaller pieces. It is very long, which is good for me as a short person, I am able to put all of my stuff on one end and sleep on the other. There is one small pocket on the inside that could hold maybe a phone, but there isn’t really any storage on the inside of the tent. There are ways to ventilate each side, but they do not offer a large amount of airflow unless you don’t have the tarp over the top. I would say that it feels safe and comfortable for me, but I would prefer being able to tent the vent just a little bit more. It’s actually a bit taller than I had expected, and because the cot itself is fairly high off the ground. It’s easy to get in and out of.Overall, I’m super happy with it, It works fantastically for me and all my needs, and for some of my family members who have a difficult time getting up and down.
