These studs are awesome. Superb grip when wading on slippery rock bottom rivers.

Once installed on my wading boots, these really worked well when river wading. My buddy won't let me in his boat with these on, but that is a minor setback for the added security in the river.

These are the best. I’ve tried them all. They hold onto the sole well and they give incredible grip on every type of rock. Just make sure not to step on your line.

The people having trouble installing these probably can't pump their own gas. I had never worn studs prior to putting these in my Orvis Pro wading boots. I tried the boots without them as I was told I would probably be happy either way. That was joke. I got mauled in a stream that I usually have no problems navigating in felt. I put these on and suddenly, I actually had better traction than felt, except on wide, flat, non-porous rocks. They held up as well as felt, one tough season and are still doing the job but aren't nearly as grippy as they were out of the box (felt also shared this trend though) so I'm going to go ahead and replace them. 4 stars because of price. Oh and yeah they will slice your fly line. Not that you should ever really be standing on it, but it happens, especially during a chaotic landing in fast water. Anyway, gotta keep your line out from underfoot with these for sure.
