It is a good mill. I've been searching for a pepper mill with metal grinder for some time. Most mills are just ceramic grinding surfaces so this is worth it in my opinion.the storage capacity is a bit small but for regular home use it's fine.

The looks of this are fine and it SHOULD work well. But, unfortunately, the MBAs at the company (as at almost all companies) figured that they could save a penny in the design and ruined it. As with every other pepper grinder I've found in recent years, the knob that holds the top on is also the control for the grinding setting. So, if you want a fine grind, you have to twist that knob down to the point where you can't turn the top to grind any pepper. If you want to be able to turn the top to actually grind pepper, you have to loosen the knob enough that your grind size is larger than desired. Penny saved, product ruined. Also, as others have noted, the grinder arrived without any packaging. Mine was sitting bare in a delivery envelope (not even a box). And, as others have noted, the grinder was partially filled with Vietnamese peppercorns (which the description does say they do). Hard to believe they can store and ship an agricultural product with no packaging. Anyway, I immediately dumped those and put in my own. So, I'm rating this thing at a Fairly Bad 2 stars out of 5.

Meine erste Pfeffermühle hat nun schon seit ca. 5 Jahren keine Garantie mehr. Da diese 25 Jahre währt, kann man sich also ausrechnen, dass sie schon 30 Jahre auf dem Buckel hat. Das Holz ist natürlich schon leicht abgegriffen, aber ab und zu pflege ich es mit Öl, dadurch glaubt kein Mensch, dass sie schon so alt ist. Nun hatte ich mir also eine weitere Mühle zugelegt da ich nun verschiedene Pfeffersorten zur Auswahl habe. Zunächst war ich sehr skeptisch, da wir die Erfahrung gemacht haben, dass überall und immer die Qualität abnimmt. Selbst ausgesprochene Qualitätsprodukte sind einfach nicht mehr das, was sie mal waren.Nun haben wir die Pfeffermühle zwei Jahre in Benutzung. Wir sind begeistert. Am Anfang musste sie sich erst einmal "einlaufen", aber nach kurzer Zeit stand sie meiner alten Pfeffermühle in nichts nach.Es geht einfach nichts über dieses geniale, grandiose Peugeot-Mahlwerk! Darunter geht gar nichts! Würde ich immer wieder kaufen! Ach nein, stimmt ja, muss ich ja nicht, geht ja irgendwie niemals kaputt.

This was supposed to replace an older plastic version which cracked after 30+ years. Even though same height as old one, the grinding know is smaller and slippery -- particularly when cooking. Best used for table serving, especially since it looks great.

最初、18cmと悩みましたが、この12cmサイズが丁度いい！キッチンだけでなく卓上やテラスで使う際、高さが無い分、どっしりとして少し手や風が当たったくらいでは倒れないかと思います。勿論いうまでもなく、挽いた胡椒の具合、香りは最高です！

Superb Quality for a lifetime of use. (I have another that is over 40 years old still working great.) Mill comes with 4 grams of Vietnam sourced Pepper in the mill. Peugeot says, "Only use for pepper. Do not use for salt, pink peppercorns, or any other spice." I suspect they say this because of moisture and gumminess. Mine sits in a small spoon trivet to keep the counter-top mess to a minimum. Others have advantages like top grinders with covers, no messy counters. Larger capacity. Less costly. Good corrosion resistant materials for salt and spices. None do as good a job uniformly grinding Black Peppercorns. I have tried a few different designs. If you want just a good looking good working manual Black Pepper Mill then this is it. You will be pleased.

Cute size for your fresh ground pepper at the dinner table. But this 5" does not have the grind adjustment of the taller models. For the money, get the 7" and you have much more control over the coarseness of the grind. Otherwise this is an excellent product. I have gotten Peugeot pepper mills for myself and now also for 4 friends. They all love them.
