If you’ve ever had your cat bust through your bathroom door like the Kool-Aid Man, you know my struggle. This little latch was my final stand. And let me tell you—it works. grabbed these for the barn doors on the inside that the old latch no longer was lining up and was all bent and we have a random screw driver holding it closed lolinstallation was simple, just a few screws and it's on there. the rubber coating is nice, not just dipped at the tip like some of the cheaper ones. makes them feel tougher and also keeps things from rattling when the wind picks up.doors aint budging anymore and no more random tools holding them shut. nice little upgrade that makes a big difference. A+

I purposely ordered these for the shed in our backyard. Where the shed sits, it gets hit with wind ALL THE TIME. We live across from a corn field so other than a 6” privacy fence, there is not much else to protect the shed from the wind.When you open the shed and the wind comes, it’ll blow the doors shut. It’s a big pain in the butt when you’re trying to get stuff in and out of there, but it’s also a safety concern since my six year old goes into the shed for his outside toys.I always worry the day will come that his fingers will get smashed by the doors, all because the wind blows the doors shut. (And for informational purposes, the doors don’t just close; they literally SLAM shut every time).My husband installed these over the weekend for me. They were super easy to install; a few screws and bada bing, we were good to go.I like that the hook portion has a rubber-type material / casing on it. This makes it so the hook portion doesn’t easily slip out of the ring. The rubber casing covers the entire hook, not just the tip. It feels like a thicker material too, so I’m confident it will last a while.The day my husband installed these, was the day I wanted to clean out the shed. It was a super windy day; with overcast, and it ending up raining minutes after I finished organizing the shed.These held up EXTREMELY well against the wind. The hook portions never slipped out of the rings. These held the doors very nicely, whereas the doors weren’t moving at all. They worked out perfectly and as I hoped.I’d definitely buy these again if I needed more down the road.

I have two of these. Used one to latch a greenhouse window open during the summer and one for a wood gate (4x4 post to a 2x4 frame). Worked better for the light weight duty (the greenhouse). For the heavier duty, if you scratch it, it will rust, pretty quickly. Also, I have NO CLUE what the "silent privacy" means. Bad translation. It's just a Hook and Eye latch. Decent price. Okay quality.
