We bought this for use on a sailboat to mount a phone in the cockpit. The arm and clamp are great and you can see and feel the quality of the product and that it’s marine grade. BUT the suction cup is a waste of time. It falls off within 10min and we have tried everything. Better get a mount that can be screwed to the boat.

The ratcheting mechanism does not work. Will not tighten enough to hold my phone or vhf radio in place while the boat is sitting on the trailer and not moving. Not sure if poor design, poor quality or defective. For $75 + for simply securing a phone it should just work.
