Quality is great and it holds the cord perfectly. The template for drilling I think is for another product because the holes are spaced too far apart. So skip that and measure for yourself...

Used this on hawk helium step with amsteel rope. Made my climbs a lot faster. Very secure. Check the maximum break load on the product you purchase.

Someone should be fired for sending out these rope cleats packaged WITH THE WRONG FRICKEN' DRILL TEMPLATE!!! (I see I'm not the only one)I now have a couple EXTRA holes in my kayak that I didn't want! Good thing it was a $700 kayak and not my $27k boat!

Cleat is fine, but the DRILLING TEMPLATE IS WRONG, by at least an entire drillbit diameter (11/64"). I made the mistake of assuming it was correct, rather than matching it up with the back of the cleat. Relying on just the template means you will end up having to drill 3 holes. Such a simple thing for a premium manufacturer to get right, wouldn't you think?

Installed with two stainless screws. Using them to secure anchor rope on my kayak when anchor is deployed. Provides quick and easy "cleating" and emergency release. Very solid piece.

This cleat is perfect for what I need. I mounted it using an 8-32 machine bolt and nut, which is the largest fastener that will fit. I am running 3/16" line through it and it holds any load that I can put on it.

It's a great cleat, but the packaging contains a template for you to use to drill the required holes in your boat. Read it carefully! If you take it at face value and drill through the holes in the template, you'll make yourself a mess and be very pissed off.
