SPECIALLY HANDCRAFTED
This mate cup is handmade out of a calabash (pumpkin). Expert Argentinians use their skills to create a genuine yerba mate gourd cup. These Mate gourds were carefully selected by us for the quality, thickness and craftsmanship along with the natural coloring methods.
This mate Argentino kit includes a yerba mate cup and a stainless mate straw.
They are handmade by artisans, each gourd will have its own unique characteristics. In general gourds are approximately the size of an average fruit (apple, pear or peach), some are a little bigger, some are a little smaller.
MATE STYLES
PAMPA
The patron ferrule "PAMPA" is the Mapuche guard of southern Argentina, full of ancestral meaning very used in the traditional and urban artisan design of the area.
ORIGINAL
Due to its ferrule style, it is the most common and traditional design, which is why it is called "ORIGINAL", and can be obtained in black or brown leather.
NORTE
The "NORTE" ferrule design is inspired by the cave art of northern Argentina, representing the customs and beliefs oF the indigenous inhabitants of the argentine soil.

Aún estoy aprendiendo a cómo curar un materno de calabaza, este es mi primero, me gusta mucho la forma que tiene la copa. Si este es tu primero te recomendaría que se practique en una de madera mejor y después que trates con el de calabaza.🎃🧉🪵😌🤌❤️🍃

Shipping was fast and the mate that arrived is beautiful. I used “spent” mate to cure the gourd over 48 hours. I had mold the first try and needed to scrap the walls. The gourd is very thick. After trying several methods, I found that I could prevent mold using near boiling water after the curing process and drying with a paper towel after. Curing the mate takes patience, especially when you have issues with mold. After months of use, I now know it was very much worth it. Good luck!
