I was so excited to see this, as we don’t have a lot of cabinet space so a big snow machine was not possible. This does not take up much space but shaves ice perfectly.

It works ok but if you’re looking for a fine powdery consistency, this is not it. You get two options which are coarse and a little more coarse. I was disappointed but if that’s what you’re looking for it would work for you.

This was purchased for a 10-year-old who wanted shave ice on his birthday. This item did not disappoint! We made over 10 servings of shave ice using this attachment with our KitchenAid stand mixer. The ice blocks were easy to freeze and you just need to run them under warm water to remove the ice pucks. The attachment goes in easily to the KitchenAid. We used a large mixing bowl underneath to catch the ice. The only small trouble was loading the ice puck into the attachment. There are arrows depicting locked/unlocked. It was easy to unlock but it always seems to take a few tries to lock it into place. However, once in place, it makes perfect shave ice that the whole family can enjoy!

This works perfectly with our KitchenAid mixer but was half the price (or less) of the KitchenAid brand snow cone attachment. We used it all summer to make shaved ice, and I'm sure it will get lots of use for many years to come. Way cheaper than going out for ice cream or snow cones, but just as fun for kids.
