The light itself is awesome. Didn’t work great on the phone because the bracket tightens to the screen but on my camera it’s next level. Keep in mind if you’re using it on a camera like I am you will probably need to get an adapter for your lens thread. I bought one for like $7 that went from 67mm to 58mm

This ring light pairs well with my iPhone. I’m not a fan of clip-on accessories for the phone, so the 67mm threads are a big advantage. My phone case has a 67mm thread adapter, which makes this light compatible. The ring light has a solid build with no flex and screws on tightly when using the threads. It performs well for product photos, providing a good fill light with adjustable brightness to suit my needs. The adjustment options are limited, but I haven’t needed more than what it offers. My only complaint is that it doesn’t come with a storage bag, though I easily fixed this by using something from my own collection. I was mainly drawn to this light for my iPhone, but I also tried it on my camera lenses. It screws on securely to all my 67mm lenses and adapters. It works fine for my camera, but compared to a professional ring flash, it’s not in the same league, which isn’t a fair comparison since they serve different purposes. This ring light is effective with a phone. It’s worth the price, especially if you’re looking for light fill similar to a camera on your phone.

This SMALLRIG Vibe P30 bi-colour LED video ring light when assembled, fits on your smartphone, around the camera nest, providing uniform, shadow-free lighting for you pictures. The ring light comes in two parts - the ring light itself and the adaptor that fits onto your mobile phone.The ring light has a 67mm outside thread on it so that if you want to and you have the lens or the adaptor, you can screw it onto the end of a camera lens. The inside of the ring is black and the part that emits the light starts only at the front so that the camera doesn't have any light source pointing directly at it.Control of the light is in the form of two buttons: one for the power; and, one for output level. The light is switched on with a long press of the power button. Once on, the power button changes the ratio of output from the orange and white LEDs thus changing the colour temperature. Short presses of the power button cycles through three levels of power output. I measured the light levels at 20cm from the ring light as this represents what you are more likely to be using it for than measuring it at one metre - at one metre, the levels will be one twenty fifth of these levels. The light output level changed with colour temperature, for example, going from 630 lux on the warm setting to 770 lux at the cool setting. On the medium colour temperature setting, the light levels were 330, 700 and 1070 lux.The adaptor has a 67mm screw on it so that you can fix the ring light to it but on the other face, it has a cut-out section with a rubber face that will fit around the edge of your phone so that it largely doesn't block your phone's cameras. Above that is a screw with a rubber face that pushes against the display face of your phone. The end of the screw is just over 9mm in diameter but with its rubber face and the rubber face of the opposite frame that grips onto the back of your phone, you don't have to apply that much force. Additionally, the adaptor has a cold shoe built into it.This is a very useful device, especially for doing marco work on your smartphone as you can see with the photographs of the pine cone - you can see that the lighting is very even at that distance.

Ich habe diese LED-Leuchte von SMALLRIG testen dürfen...dabei war die Smartphone-Klemme.Dank Standard-Gewinde mit 67mm kann man die Leuchte auch einfach z.B. an Kamera-Objektiven mit entsprechendem Gewindedurchmesser montieren, oder mit entsprechenden Adaptern auch an kleineren.HalterungDie mitgelieferte Halterung kann universell für anderes Zubehör, vor allem Filter mit 67mm eingesetzt werden -gut!Allerdings finde ich sie sonst unpraktisch, man steckt sie übers Kamera-Modul des Smartphones... was bei einem iPhone, wie dem 14 Pro Max, gut passt, und allerdings ragt sie eben übers Display und wird da mit einer Schraube verankert. Finde ich okay aber doch etwas störend. Da gibt es eine deutlich bessere Lösung: Von der Marke REYGEAK durfte ich vor längerem bereits eine Filter-Halterung fürs iPhone mit MagSafe testen... die passt perfekt ans iPhone, eben magnetisch und somit ragt sie nicht über den Rand hinaus. Dazu eben ein passendes Filtergewinde, sogar mit genau 67mm... also für mich die ideale Lösung, außer eben für Smartphones mit abweichender Kamera-Anordnung, aber da dürfte die Smallrig-Halterung auch nicht immer geeignet sein.LeuchteDie Leuchte scheint mir einwandfrei verarbeitet, sehr leicht und mobil. Einfach bedienbar und auf das wesentliche beschränkt. Natürlich nicht sehr hell aber absolut okay für dunklere Umgebungen bzw. als Füll-Licht...Sehr praktisch auch an der spiegellosen Systemkamera, z.B. bei mir am 85mm 1.8-Objektiv, dass 67mm Gewinde hat.Wer den Ringlicht-Effekt mag (Licht eben exakt aus Blickrichtung, somit keine Schatten von der Seite...), der findet hier eine extrem mobile Lösung, wenn auch natürlich durch die kleine Größe nicht so weich, wie ein deutlich größeres...Für Makro-Fotografie sicher eine interessante und preisgünstige Wahl, auch für Portrait-Fotografie zum experimentieren bzw. bei wenig Umgebungslicht ganz nett.Ich bin soweit zufrieden, auch wenn ich eine MagSafe-Halterung, wie REYGEAK sie anbietet, noch besser fände, sonst alles okay für eine kleine, leichte LED-Ringleuchte mit wenigen Einstellmöglichkeiten.

I was looking for a lighting option that offered value for money and one that was compact enough (and light enough) for travelling. This lighting ring from Smallrig does exactly that, and it fits my Samsung S21 perfectly. It is easy to fit, but I would suggest that you don't over tighten the screw (as it is pressing against your phone screen after all.) But otherwise, it literally takes seconds to attach this to your mobile phone. Worth noting that because it has a screw thread, this light will also fit directly on some camera lenses (67mm). Should you wish to do this, you could even invest in some stepper rings if your lens has a different thread size. It is easy to use with two buttons for power and colour temperature, plus it charges through USB-C which is always handy. The only disappointment so far is the build quality. To be honest, it looks and feels somewhat "cheap" with scuffs around the side (another reviewer has also commented on this and uploaded a photo.) I doubt this is something that you could accidently drop too many times and get away with it. That being said... it still works well and won't break the bank in the first place.

Der Lichtaufsatz eignet sich prima auf Smartphones - unter Verwendung des mitgelieferten Adapters - als auch bei meinen beiden Makroobjektiven, bei denen ein 67mm Filtermaß ausreichend ist.Dabei handelt es sich einmal um das Makro Objektiv von Sony SEL9028G mit 62mm Filtermaß (Hier kann man einen Adapterring verwenden) und das TTArtisan 100mm T/S f2.8, bei dem das Licht direkt passt.Auf größeren Objektiven, wie bspw. das SONY SEL70200G2, das auch über eine Makro Einstellung verfügt, besitzt ein Filtermaß von 72mm und daher kann das Licht hier auch mit einem Adapterring nicht verwendet werden, da dadurch die Ecken vignetiert würden. Schade, sonst wäre der Artikel von mir besser bewertet worden.Vielleicht denkt der Hersteller ja mal darüber nach mal mindestens ein Licht mit 72mm , noch besser wären 77mm auf den Markt zu bringen. Denn auch im Weitwinkelmodus bei meinem Smartphone habe ich in den Ecken eine Vignetierung (es entstehen dunkle Bereiche)Daher mein Fazit: Nicht so gut wie ein Ringblitz und auch nur für Objektive mit einem Filtermaß von kleiner gleich 67mm zu verwenden.

Leichtes Ringlicht zur schattenlosen Aufhellung bei Makroaufnahmen. Die Helligkeit lässt sich in drei Stufen (33%/66%/100%), die Farbtemperatur in feinen Abstufungen von 3200° K (warmwiß) bis 5600° K (kaltweiß) einstellen. Die Stromversorgung erfolgt über einen integrierten Akku, das zum Laden benötigte USB-C-Kabel wird mitgeliefert.Ebenso ist eine Halterung für's Smartphone dabei. An Kameraobjektive mit 67mm Filterdurchmesser lässt sich das Ringlicht direkt einschrauben, für andere Größen werden optionale Adapter benötigt.

This very inexpensive ring light is a nice fit on my Canon EF 100 2.8L IS USM Macro lens. It has three brightness settings and the light distribution around the ring is pretty even, alternating between cool and warm LEDs, which gives a pretty nice color temperature and light throw across the frame.With the light on the high setting I was able to get the same exposure on a picture of the instruction manual at 1/100 second as I did with no added light at 0.6 second, a difference of 6 stops.The light screws directly onto the 67 mm threads on my lens and it's very thin, so it doesn't protrude off the front too much and can easily fit in a bag to take wherever you go. There is no included pouch or any kind of protection, though.There is a clamp that can be used to attach this to a phone. It attached pretty easily too my Pixel 7 in its case, but I didn't think I'll ever use this because I have a real camera with a real macro lens.One thing that's important to know: this is a constant light, not a strobe. That means it's not going to be nearly as bright as a strobe, but more importantly, you'll probably scare off anything living, like small insects, before you can get a picture. Of course, it's also less than 1/20 the price of a halfway decent macro ring strobe.My biggest negative is that there is no way to put a lens cap on when you have this light attached. I would love to be able to keep the light on place for a macro focused photo walk, but I want my front element protected, too.

Review: SmallRig Vibe P30 67mm Ring LED Video Light, Compact Bi-Color Light with High CRI ≥90, for 67mm Phone Mounts/Cases/Lenses, for Content Creation, Universal Threaded Filter Adapter Kit 5203I am a fan of most SmallRig products and this too is another solid product from them.Picked this up mainly to use as a selfie light and for quick product photos using my phone to help with shadows.It does the job for my use case.It has a nice feel to the light, not too heavy and the craftsmanship is on par with other SmallRig items. No complaints here. The buttons are responsive and the USBC plugs in tight compared to some I have used in the past.The light is plenty bright for my intended purposes. The three adjustments (33, 66, and 100%) seem accurate as there is a visible difference in brightness when clicking through the settings. Being able to adjust the color temperature is nice to have. You can choose 3200k, 4300k and 5600k.Attaching the light to my phone is simple and quick. I had no issues attaching it to the phone with or without a case.My only thing I would have liked was if they included a little pouch for the light. I can keep it in the box but it would have been nice to have a bag to keep it in so I could then throw it into my main bag. Not a deal breaker at all and I still really like the light.Overall, 5 stars. A solid product and will get plenty of use.

The product description of this ring light is accurate, and it does everything stated. It has a solid feel and all the buttons are responsive with good “clicking” feel. The light, as advertised, is only 3w, which translates to being useful at a max 18ft away from subject, but best at around a foot. It’s a selfie/macro ring light and does the job for this purpose and this purpose only.The ring light is threaded at 67mm. Personally all of my mirrorless macro lenses or lenses that can focus at a macro-ish ratio are 72mm or larger so I can’t test the lights use on a “real” camera. Also included is a phone adapter that screws into the ring light’s threads and then clamps on to a phone. In my case, an iPhone 15 Pro Max.With my protective case on my phone the ring light attached perfectly in vertical shooting position. It holds to the phone via pressure from a screw clamp. Be gentle here as I’m sure tightened it down too hard could damage your screen. There is a cold shoe on the bottom of the ring light mount adapter for attaching to a stand or other mount.Attaching the light in horizontal position with my camera’s case on was less successful. It left the light tilted a degree or two. However, with the camera case off the light fit perfect both horizontally and vertically.Overall, this is a good smart phone selfie light option. Again, I don’t know of too many macro (capable) mirrorless lenses with a 67mm thread, so I doubt it’s usefulness on those cameras. One negative I will mention is that no pouch or case is included and is necessary. So unless you have a spare lying around, prepare to spend a couple extra bucks.
