I got this because we had a snake in our attic and I wanted to see if we could get it out. This net is okay. One thing I don't like is the pull string. You have to put your hand by the net when you pull it, therefore close to the snake. So I wish the drawstring gave more clearance and was better thought out.You probably also want something to move the snake towards the net because snakes don't really want to go towards a net depending on how they are positioned. We used a stick. I wish there was a hook type metal pole that came with this so you don't have to use something like a stick. Plus if you had a hook type pole then it would be easier to close the top, etc. It's nice because the handle is telescoping and you can make it shorter or longer. We went with longer as we didn't know what kind of snake we were dealing with to start. The net is pretty long but snakes are amazing climber which we learned rather quickly and so depending on the snake you'll want to be closing the top quickly. I don't know that I'd want to mess with this with something like a rattle snake, honestly, unless I had more handling experience or there weren't better options. I did "practice" a couple of times so that when it did come to catching the snake I knew better how everything worked. While it did work for our needs, we were lucky and had a "friendly" snakes on our hands that we relocated.

I have not caught a snake with this yet but it is a good quality net, really much better than a lot of the ones I have had over the years.
